QUETTA: Security forces foiled an attempt to carry out terrorist activities in the border town of Chaman on Thursday by seizing a large quantity of weapons and ammunition, according to officials.
The operation was conducted in the Guldar Baghicha area of Chaman on a tip-off.
During the raid on a hideout of a banned organisation, security officials seized a heavy cahce of arms and ammunition, including anti-personnel mines, rocket launchers, grenade launchers, primer cards, safety pins and other equipment.
These items were believed to have been hidden by terrorists for use in sabotage activities, the officials said. No arrests were made during the operation.
Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti praised the successful operation by security forces and intelligence agencies in Chaman, calling it a testament to the timely and effective strategy against terrorism.
He commended the professional capabilities of the security agencies and extended his congratulations to the forces for their successful operation in foiling a major sabotage plan in Guldar Baghicha.
