13:50 Goodwood: The Panel Selection - French Duke

French Duke was The Panel selection for a nineteen runner heritage handicap at Royal Ascot finishing sixth after experiencing a nightmare passage.

Hampered after a couple of furlongs he got lit up and blew away his chance, but did well in the circumstances making ground in the straight to be beaten less than four lengths.

That was just his fourth start and the experience won’t have been wasted. He has the potential to rate higher than his current modest mark and can take this prize for James Doyle  and Roger Varian.

15:00 Goodwood: The Panel Selection - Aesterius

Winner of a Bath maiden in May, Aesterius was pitched into the Group2 Norfolk stakes at Royal Ascot and ran a terrific race to finish fifth beaten just over a length.

He then took in the Listed Dragon stakes at Sandown, travelled well and won with the minimum of fuss.

The son of Mehmas looks to be talented and should take a further step forward by winning this Group3 under James Doyle for Archie Watson.

15:35 Goodwood: The Panel Selection - Henry Longfellow

This Group1 Sussex stakes was eagerly anticipated but the defection of favourite Rosallion has robbed it of much of its interest.

Of the five remaining runners, Henry Longfellow, who finished a neck behind Rosallion at Ascot is by far the most likely to benefit from his absence.

He holds two of these runners on that Ascot form and the others look outclassed. He was unbeaten last year, was arguably the best of the Ballydoyle juveniles, and can take this Group1 under Ryan Moore for Aidan O’Brien.

Suggested Staking Plan

The Panel suggest the following stakes for today's three selections.
