Yes, your Motability vehicle will need regular servicing to keep it performing at its best. You should aim to get your car serviced in accordance with the manufacturer's recommended schedule - this will be highlighted in the vehicle handbook.
You will be able to get all service and MOT work carried out at your managing dealership, which will be agreed at the start of your Motability lease.
Before your vehicle is returned at the end of its contact, it must have a valid MOT certificate. Your managing dealership will contact you when your MOT is due, so you can schedule your appointment in a timely manner.
Servicing and MOT costs on your Motability vehicle are included within your lease - so you don't have to worry about any unexpected bills.
If your Motability car fails its MOT, it will need to be fixed and re-tested. You will receive a report which documents the issues that resulted in the failure, and how these can be resolved.
The cost of routine repairs and general wear and tear is covered by your Motability agreement. However, for any considerable damage, you may have to claim through your RSA Motability insurance.
If your Motability car is a write off, you will receive support from RSA Motability. They will be able to help you organise a hire car, submit a new Motability application and settle the previous contract on the written off vehicle.
You should contact RSA Motability at the earliest opportunity if you have been involved in an accident. Even if there is no visible damage to your car it is important that you contact the team, so they can advise you on the next steps.
Your insurance booklet will provide a full breakdown of what is covered.
