Well I think I may have found the perfect hotel!! The room, food, decor, location, atmosphere, all spot on! but what really made this place great was the staff, all so kind and so helpful, nothing was too much trouble and everything done with a smile. We are a charity and couldn't have achieved our mission on Santa Maria without the help of the amazing Sophia, an absolute credit to Charming Blue, thank you so much from all the team and crew at The Maiden Factor. I can't wait to come back!!

Vain 1 km:n päässä Santa Marian lentokentältä sijaitsevassa 4 tähden Hotel Santa Mariassa on suuri puutarha ja ulkouima-allas. Sijainti lähellä lentokenttää oli hyvä. Huoneet ja hotellin yhteiset tilat avarat ja siistit. Henkilökunta auttoi ja palveli meitä huipputasolla! Täällä olisi viihtynyt pidempääkin.

Featuring garden views, QUINTA DO FALCÃO in Almagreira offers accommodation, a garden and barbecue facilities. With mountain views, this accommodation provides a patio. Everything well maintained and service went the extra mile with us being late. The next day we could stay as long as we wanted because there was no other booking. Short cab ride from the main city (~10€). Recommended!

A recently renovated holiday home set in Vila do Porto, Casinha do Barreiro - Cosy Private Cottage features a garden. The property features garden and quiet street views. The place is amazing. Aideen is great. If you're looking for a place that's kind of isolated on your own hill top in the middle of nowhere, yet just up the hill from a small town with a great restaurant, look no further. Awesome sunrise when you wake up in the morning. Beautiful stars at night.

Set in Santo Espírito in the Santa Maria region, Villa - Cantinho do Paraíso offers accommodation with free WiFi and free private parking, as well as access to a hot tub. This place is paradise on earth. The Villa is breathtaking. It is at a perfect location with amazing views. The rooms themselves are modern, intuitive, and comfortable. The grounds are impeccable and Susana and Nestor make you feel like you’re part of the family. The pet donkeys were one of the best parts, as was the bee workshop and a tour of the island with Miguel. We felt sad to leave, and will definitely be back to visit again.

Set in Vila do Porto in the Santa Maria region, Casita - Cantinho do Paraíso offers accommodation with access to a hot tub. This is really a paradise house - it is so peaceful and quiet in there and the views are amazing. It feels like you are alone in the world - life changing experience. The house is very stylish and well-equipped with all the necessities. You have a large territory coming together with the house, including forest, terrace, view points. The drive to the nearest beach takes about 10 minutes and to the city is around 15 minutes. The hosts are very welcoming and willing to help with any questions/requests.

Casa dos Valentes is set in Santo Espírito. This holiday home offers free private parking, a 24-hour front desk and free WiFi. It was so peaceful and the house had everything we needed. We loved hearing the rural sounds, and the place was so easy to find. We were greeted as we drove up the driveway and check in was seamless. When we opened the door, we were greeted with a loaf of homemade bread, cookies, and jam from the Cooperative Bakery up the street along with milk and a large bottle of water. We cooked breakfast every morning, and when we weren’t out exploring, we enjoyed sitting on the front patio and watching the nearby cows and sheep grazing. And, given the size of the island (and the time of year we visited), we didn’t have any problem driving to Vila do Porto for more restaurant options (it was only 20 minutes away). However, we did enjoy our late morning coffee in one of the bars in the village of Santo Espirito.
