Burra Motor Inn, hotel in Burra

Burra Motor Inn offers spacious rooms that open out onto the picturesque Burra Creek. Guests enjoy lovely views and bird life right outside each room.

Checkin was quick and easy with our receipt already printed out. The building was lovely with grapevines along the front and back verandahs. We could park right outside the door. The location was great, backing onto a creek, and it was close to main attractions. The bed was comfy and big and had bedside tables on each side. The aircon was efficient. The WiFi was good quality. The milk provided was in a bottle not a (squirty) tetrapack. Roomy shower.

I went to Burra to see and photograph the house that is on the cover of the Midnight Oil Diesel and Dust album. The town is fabulous it is being so well preserved as a historical town. It is small town but seems to be the main town for the area. It was very easy to get there from Adelaide by car, I will definitely go back and there is a lot to see.

I have visited Burra en route a number of times purposefully because it is such a quaint, well preserved historical town with interesting buildings and friendly people. The pubs serve great food and local wines. And of course I go to photograph the Midnight Oil house!

Lovely country town. Burra Heritage Trail well worth doing. Part is easy walk from town, but easy drive to the rest. Lots of interpretive signs. Pub meals are excellent. Try Burra lamb pie. So good! Variety of shops and cafes too. Everyone friendly and welcoming.
