Very central to Barossa Valley wineries, short drive to Maggie Beer’s Farm Shop, plenty of beautiful restaurants, cafes, pubs in the Main Street. Loved the restaurant 1918 - Food was delicious, staff were knowledgeable about the wine, fire was warm and cosy. Tanunda was a great place to stay to visit the wineries

Tanunda is a lovely little town with a good selection of restaurants and shops. It has character and the locals were friendly. It has a cycle trail running through it which is good for walking and cycling. Bikes can be hired locally. Getting around was easy, we walked to dinner and took a taxi to lunch outside town at Hentley Farm.

Tanunda’s a lovely place to visit and the perfect base for winery visits. Plenty of good eateries and choice of wine cellars in Tanunda itself. Ferment Asian restaurant is lovely and the Angus burger at Char Grill was cooked to perfection. Z wines does great tropical sangria jugs. Nosh cafe is a quirky place and a bit like a tardis with very friendly staff. Krondoff cellar staff very friendly and good wine choice. Visitor centre very helpful and definitely worth visiting to check out what is on in the area.

A nice town catering for travellers to the Barossa Valley.
A nice town catering for travellers to the Barossa Valley. A typical tourist town providing accommodation and many restaurants (some of dubious quality such as Char Barossa which is to be avoided at all costs), but a pleasant place to stay all the same. Very central to many of the wineries in the region.

A glorious place for a relaxing holiday. A retro vibe with touches of modern luxe comfort. Very quiet yet central to everything in the charming town of Tanunda. We loved strolling into town to admire the historic stone architecture of buildings and churches. A short walk to Chateau Tanunda and the Jaguar museum was a bonus.
Great base to explore Tanunda and the Barossa Valley. Spent three days here and it felt like home. Had everything we needed and lots of extra touches which were appreciated. Very generous supplies for a cooked or continental breakfast, and complimentary chocolates and port on the table. Also had access to the laundry.
The makings for breakfast could not have been better and in substantial quantity.
The location was ideal on the edge of Tanunda but in a rural setting.
Fresh roses in the house were a bonus and added to during our stay.
An ideal spot from which to explore the Barossa including some good walks.
