Si les difficultés du mouvement ouvrier depuis la contre-révolution néolibérale ont pu permettre aux discours identifiant comme rivaux les luttes pour les droits civils et sociaux de rencontrer un certain écho, l’histoire des combats féministes nous indiquent que loin d’être concurrents, ils ont été intimement liés à la théorie et pratique politiques socialistes. La philosophe Alessia Franco explique dans cet article que les affinités électives des combats féministes et communistes ne tiennent pas à des raisons contingentes, mais bien à leur intégration dans le procès d’accumulation du capital, comme modalités de division du travail social, et par suite, fondement de différences patrimoniales autour desquelles se nouent les rapports de domination.

Cet article a pour objectif d’évaluer la portée descriptive de la notion de « triangle de velours » pour comprendre la réussite de certaines collaborations féministes avec l’État québécois. La notion de triangle de velours a été élaborée par Alison Woodward en 2003 avec la volonté de rendre compte des alliances établies entre les féministes de la base, les expertes universitaires et les féministes dans les appareils d’État afin d’incorporer les luttes pour l’égalité dans les politiques publiques. Cette notion sera mise à profit dans le contexte québécois pour rendre compte de la complexité et de l’étendue des alliances parmi les féministes dans cadre des luttes pour la liberté d’avortement et l’équité salariale. Les matériaux principaux de notre analyse sont des entretiens semi-dirigés portant sur les récits de féministes militantes engagées dans ces luttes au Québec.

L’idée de nature, (Racine de iXe) 1re éd. by Colette Guillaumin Colette Guillaumin, théoricienne majeure du féminisme matérialiste formé autour de la revue Questions féministes en France dans le sillage du Mouvement de libération des femmes, et Silvia Federici, figure italo-américaine du féminisme marxiste autonome investie dans la campagne internationale réclamant un salaire contre le travail domestique, appartiennent à deux courants nés dans les années 1970. L’intérêt de faire dialoguer ces théoriciennes – qui ne se sont guère lues – réside dans la richesse des théories critiques qu’elles défendent et des questions poli- tiques soulevées par leurs divergences. Cette mise en discussion relève cependant du défi. Non seulement leurs cadres théoriques se sont construits depuis des luttes, contextes et pays différents, mais en France, le débat a été polarisé par la polémique opposant Michèle Barrett et Mary McIntosh à Christine Delphy. Néanmoins, parce que ces auteures abordent un vaste éventail de thématiques qui ne sauraient être mises en discussion, cette lecture croisée se doit de faire l’impasse sur nombre d’analyses stimulantes. Après avoir restitué l’intérêt et la structure de ces deux ouvrages, nous discuterons quelques-unes de leurs caractéristiques communes et spécificités.

Une des caractéristiques des féminismes, héritée des luttes passées, est son autonomie politique, laquelle est liée à une conception du séparatisme. La non-mixité, lorsqu'elle est mise en pratique, consiste en une forme d'organisation permettant de contrer, pour une certaine période de temps, les différentes manifestions de l'oppression fondées sur le genre. Cette pratique, apriori neutre, au sens où elle peut être l'outil politique de tous les mouvements de luttes, permet, selon les féministes, d'aménager un espace de liberté politique pour les femmes sur la base d'un « Nous », qui devient ainsi un lieu de ralliement. Cet espace permet de penser collectivement l'action politique, pour certaines, ou de prendre conscience de l'importance des luttes à mener pour d'autres. La stratégie de repli dans un espace délimité par les frontières du « Nous » est d'abord pensée en termes organisationnels par les femmes, mais deviendra par la suite une affirmation théorique féministe et une forme de regroupement majoritairement privilégiée. Parce que la non-mixité est considérée comme un héritage des luttes féministes et qu'elle fait l'objet de contestations antiféministes (en dehors du mouvement), il est devenu difficile d'émettre des réflexions critiques sur ce mode d'organisation et sur le lieu qui lui sert de point de ralliement, soit le « Nous femmes ». Pourtant, il me semble possible d'interroger dans une perspective féministe les limites de ce « Nous femmes » privilégié, sans s'écarter, ni aller à l'encontre, de l'autonomie politique gagnée par ce mode d'organisation .
