The CPFS consists of 11 items of frequency of use of practices. The CPFS uses an 8-point response scale, but each response is recoded on a 3-point scale: 1-not consistent with Responsive Classroom® approach, 2-somewhat consistent with the RC approach, 3-consistent with the RC approach. The re-coding scale varies by item.

All our contacts with the Collaborative School Districts, Consultant Bank members, State Directors of Programs for the Gifted and Talented, National Research Center Advisory Council, and State Parent and Teacher Organizations have been very positive . You have all helped us to get the word out about our research studies through newsletters, personal communications, and conferences . We have received copies of newsletters from around the country highlighting specific findings from Year 1 studies . Thanks to all of you for helping us maintain such an extensive dissemination plan.

The term curriculum has many different definitions but is generally considered “a complex idea containing multiple components including goals, content, pedagogy, and instructional practices ” (NAEYC-NAECS/SDE, 2003, p. 6). Curriculum serves as a comprehensive guide for instruction and day-to-day interactions with young children and is conceptualized as the foundation upon which services are systematically designed, implemented, and evaluated (Division for Early Childhood, 2007; Hojnoski & Missall, 2006; Pretti-Frontczak, Jackson, McKeen, & Bricker, 2008). A framework is defined as underlying support or a means by which information can be classified and organized. Teaching is a complex profession and feedback on teacher practices is needed for teachers' development. Many instruments are available to measure teacher practices, but little is known about their quality. This systematic review aimed to gain insight into the quality of instruments available to measure teacher practices. A systematic review based on ERIC, PsychINFO, and Web of Science databases (2000-2016) was conducted. In total 96 journal articles were included, describing 127 measurement instruments. The instruments were mainly selfevaluation questionnaires, focussing on activities during teaching. Most evidence was provided for the validity and impact of the instruments. Evidence for utility was generally low. Questionnaire data gathered from students seems to best meet the quality requirements. It is discussed to evaluate teachers with different measurement instruments to provide a rich perspective of their practices.
Assessment for Learning (AfL) may be conceptualized as minute-to-minute, day-by-day interactions between learners and teachers with the improvement of learning as the principal focus. A feature of the literature on assessment is the lack of research instruments to evaluate teachers' assessment literacy following exposure to AfL. This paper traces the development of an AfL measurement instrument (scale) that can be used for research purposes prior to, during and following professional development in the area. As described in the paper, Rasch measurement procedures were applied to data drawn from a convenience sample of 406 elementary school teachers in Ireland to create a scale consisting of 20 items distributed across four key AfL assessment strategies: sharing learning intentions and success criteria, questioning and classroom discussion, feedback and peer-and –self assessment. There has been considerable emphasis on indirect functional behavior assessments in school settings. However, little research has evaluated the reliability of these methods to identify behavioral function. One indirect measure, the Questions About Behavioral Function (QABF) scale, has yet to be extensively studied in school settings, though psychometric evidence suggests it is a viable assessment of the functions of a variety of problem behaviors for persons diagnosed with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities. The purpose of this study was to examine the reliability of the QABF when completed by teachers and paraprofessionals in a school setting with children diagnosed with a variety of disabilities. Overall, results suggested that when used in a school setting without support from examiners familiar with behavior analysis or the QABF, the measure demonstrated poor inter-rater reliability and internal consistency. Factors that may have contributed to this outcome are discussed, including suggestions for future research using indirect assessments in school settings.
Quite by chance, the principal author of this article witnessed the discovery of an interesting mural painting at Ksar Zenaga on 1 st April 2023. The demolition of an old house built from local materials in order to rebuild it revealed a drawing on the wall of a bedroom above a covered passageway in the ksar. It measures 1.70 m by 1.80 m. It is made up of geometric patterns painted in red ochre obtained from a red earth called tiwḍett, used by the inhabitants to dye the wooden elements used in architecture, such as the date palm beams. The material and painting technique are reminiscent of medieval wall paintings and especially rock art paintings. The authors propose a discussion on this subject, raising the broader question of the rewriting of art history in Morocco.
