Introduction. Affectional expression plays an important role in the dyadic adjustment in couples. It meas- ures the individual's satisfaction towards emotionality and sexuality expression in the relationship (1). This study aims to analyse the association between strain and affectional expression. Material and Method. We selected 30 patients who declared themselves strained for the experimental group and 30 patients who declared not to be strained for the control group. We analysed the association between strain and agreement on sex relations and also the association between strain and feeling too tired for sex. Microsoft Excel and MedCalc were used for statistics Results. The statistical analysis showed that subjects who declared themselves strained at the moment of evaluation had 14,5 more times disagreements with their partner regarding sex relations [OR=14,5, 95% CI (1,7177-122,4), P=0,0140]. Even though strained subjects were 1,96 times more tired for sex than subjects who did not consider themselves strained at the moment, the value did not reach statistical sig- nificance [OR=1,96, 95% CI (0,7023-5,4788), P=0,1986]. Conclusion. The affectional expression is being disturbed by the current state of strain, especially the cou- ples' agreement on intimate relations. In order to avoid separation and divorce, there is need of psycho- therapy, support and campaigns targeting strain, anxiety, depression, work-life balance and importance of sleep.

This study addresses the issue of how stress is related to sexual problems among women and men in close relationships (we considered stable couples). Psychological symptoms, relationship quality, daily internal stress (meaning, stress that comes from the couple, such as conflicts, concern for the partner), daily external stress (meaning, stress that occurs outside the couple, such as stress at work, stressful relatives and so on) were examined for their association with various sexual problems. Method: The study included 38 couples participating in this study, chosen at random from a sample of sexually active couples. Online questionnaires were used. Results: The results so far support the hypotheses that 1) there is an incremental effect or stress on sexual problems, controlling psychological symptoms and the quality of the relationship and that 2) it is primarily internal daily stress. Emotional stress that is related to sexual problems, especially hypoactive sexual desire in women and men, sexual aversion in women, vaginismus in women and premature ejaculation in men. Conclusions: Our findings indicate that the treatment of these sexual problems should address relationship issues, including a focus on helping individuals to improve their stress management skills in their relationship. Inner stress plays a key role in sexual behavior, this study once again highlights the fact that better communication as a couple, relaxation and finding specific copying methods are a good remedy, but more studies are needed to demonstrate effectiveness. them.

Sexual disorders are highly prevalent, yet under researched when compared to other DSM-5 diagnoses. Sexual desire, in particular, is the most prevalent sexual concern for women, and substantially impacts the individual with low sexual desire, as well as their partner and the relationship. While the symptom clusters that comprise sexual desire and other dysfunctions are heterogeneous, they all require the presence of 'distress' in order to meet diagnostic criteria (American Psychiatric Association, 2013). The construct of distress is receiving increasing empirical interest, although the research to date remains in its infancy, suffers from a number of methodological flaws, and has focused on the individual rather than the relationship. Along with the wave of research investigating sexual distress, has come the development of psychometric measures to assess the construct. Indeed, the International Consensus Development Conference on Female Sexual Dysfunction (Basson et al., 20...

Introduction: Intimacy has a fundamental importance in the survival of couples' relationships and its rate has a profound effect on marital happiness. The main objective of the present research was to investigate the effectiveness of cognitive-behavioral couple therapy as well as emotion-focused couple therapy on marital intimacy of couples referring to counseling centers in the city of Zabol, Iran. Method: The current research was a quasi-experimental study with a randomized placement of subjects. The plan of the pre-test and post-test groups as well as control group with two experimental categories were used in this research to test the hypotheses. The statistical population included all couples referring to Zabol counseling centers during 2017-2018. The sample consisted of 24 couples (48 individuals) who were selected through targeted sampling and were randomly divided into three groups (each group with 8 pairs), namely, two experimental groups (cognitive-behavioral couple th...

This article reviews the research on couple therapy over the last decade. The research shows that couple therapy positively impacts 70% of couples receiving treatment. The effectiveness rates of couple therapy are comparable to the effectiveness rates of individual therapies and vastly superior to control groups not receiving treatment. The relationship between couple distress and individual disorders such as depression and anxiety has become well established over the past decade. Research also indicates that couple therapy clearly has an important role in the treatment of many disorders. Findings over the decade have been especially promising for integrative behavioral couples therapy and emotion-focused therapy, which are two evidence-based treatments for couples. Research has also begun to identify moderators and mediators of change in couple therapy. Finally, a new and exciting line of research has focused on delineating the principles of change in couple therapy that transcends...

On Valentine’s Day, the sight of couples holding hands and hugging each-other might unleash a wave of jealousy in those who are single. However, there might not be much to be jealous about. Also, marital quality clearly colors one’s overall sense of well-being, and marital distress elevates health risks, says a leading clinical psychology journal. However, the simple presence of a spouse is not necessarily protective; a troubled marriage is itself a prime source of stress, and simultaneously limits the partner’s ability to seek support in other relationships. The worst distance between two persons in a relationship misunderstanding. Indeed, the relationship between life satisfaction and marital quality is stronger than life satisfaction’s ties to either one’s job or one’s health.
