Effect of high-melting oxides on the recrystallization of niobium alloys

Effect of high-melting oxides on the recrystallization of niobium alloys

Metal Science and Heat Treatment, 1969
Abstract
1.An increase of the amount of dispersed oxide phase increases hardening during deformation.2.Within the limits of the compositions studied, dispersed oxide phase raises the recrystallization temperature by 175–200°C and inhibits grain growth.3.Coalescence and solution of the dispersed phase accelerate the migration of boundaries and grain growth.4.The nature of the phase (within the limits investigated, ZrO2 and HfO2) has little effect
