The main objective of developing this Ultrasonic Range Finder Using Micro controller is to provide the information about destination whether is available or not when it is middle of transmission. The previous system was worked with radar based system but we could not find the effective results while using it in water based systems. The main advantage of this micro controller system we can find the targeted file while it is water. And this microcontroller finds the destination and sends the proper signals to that.
  The time from transmission of the pulse to reception of the echo is the time taken for the sound energy to travel through the air to the object and back again. Since the speed of sound is constant through air measuring the echo reflection time lets you calculate the distance to the object using the formula      D = (s * t)/2 (in meters).
    You can get ultrasonic transducers optimized for 25 kHz, 32 kHz, 40 kHz or wide bandwidth transducers. This project uses a 40 kHz transducer but it will still work with the others if you make simple changes to the software. The receiver and generator circuits will work as they are. The 40kz signal is easily generated by the microcontroller but detection requires a sensitive amplifier. We can use a three transistor amplifier for the receiver. This is followed by a peak detector and comparator which set the sensitivity threshold so that false reflections are ignored.
              In the development of this project I with my team have implemented our knowledge that  we have learned  from the subjects like Electronic Circuit Design,Micro Controller interfacing,communications,Programming and Embedded system Design in our Undergraduation.

Wireless automation in the generation, transmission and distribution of electricity and billing has come of age. Traditional metering methods for retrieving the energy data of consumers is not convenient. The present system of energy billing is error prone, time, resource and labour consuming. The problem worsens when consumers try to bypass meter units, thereby pay less than what is actually consumed or the case of overbilling by the Electricity Company as the case in many Nigerian houses.          This paper presents the design and implementation of a GSM based remote operation of an energy meter which proffers the solution to power theft, consumption control, auto billing and payment, data logging and labour reduction in power distribution and management          The objective of this project is to facilitate energy consumption measurement and its corresponding billing scheme.          The materials and method deployed herein is the use of a microcontroller unit that continually monitors the meter interfaced with a GSM MODEM with a dedicated SIM for remote operations. The method used to carry out this project is the principle of serial communication in collaboration with embedded systems. The meter provides corresponding billing Information on a LCD screen

Este trabalho objetiva apresentar os fundamentos científicos da bioimpedância, bem como suas aplicações nas diversas áreas da engenharia biomédica. Com um amplo espectro de aplicações, esta técnica de análise e diagnose é rápida e não invasiva, reduzindo assim o tempo de diagnóstico e sem efeitos colaterais. Com aplicações desde uma simples estimativa de massa corpórea em amostras de células em suspensão a estimativa de composição corporal ou a caracterização de estados patológicos de tecidos. Como equipamento básico para a técnica, o projeto de medidor de bioimpedâncias proposto neste trabalho opera a quatro eletrodos, ou tetrapolar, em uma frequência de 50kHz, permite a medição da resistência (R), da reatância capacitiva (Xc) que são adequados para aplicações de estimativa da composição corporal e a medição do ângulo de fase (AF), o qual é base para o diagnóstico preditivo de doenças como câncer e tumores.

In our cities, many times we see that the garbage bins or dustbins placed at public places are overflowing. It creates unhygienic conditions for people. Also it creates ugliness to that place. At the same time bad smell is also spread. To avoid all such situations we have implemented a project called GSM based smart dustbins for smart cities. In this, dustbin is interfaced with microcontroller based system having IR wireless system. If the dustbin is loaded with garbage, the status will be displayed on the screen. If the garbage is not collected in specific time then SMS will be sent to the person informing that dustbin is not cleaned yet. At the same time, status report will be updated so that the sweeper for contractor responsible for the cleanliness can be question for the delay. Hence an automatic system can be designed to maintain the city Clean with the help of electronics. However we see that in case there is some festival or some function, lots of garbage material is generated by people in that particular area. In such cases the garbage dustbin gets immediately full and then it overflows which creates many problems. So in situations, with help of our project the government authority person can get SMS immediately. So they will get SMS before their periodic interval visit of picking up the dustbin. Then they can go and pick up the dustbins. After every pick up interval the dustbins will be under servicing, while every dustbin's individual battery will be charged under the guidance of NMC. As people are getting smarter so are the things. While the thought comes up for Smart cities there is a requirement for Smart waste management. The idea of Smart Dustbin is for the Smart buildings, Colleges, Hospitals and Bus stands. The Smart Dustbin thus thought is an improvement of normal dustbin by elevating it to be smart using sensors and logics. Smart dustbins is a new idea of implementation which makes a normal dustbin smart using ultrasonic sensors for garbage level detection and sending message to the user updating the status of the bin using GSM modem. As soon as the dustbin is full, it moves in the predefined path to reach the larger container with the help of Line follower robot.

In designing and making an automatic roof tool that serves to help humans in terms of drying clothes, when exposed to rain then automatically the roof will be closed by itself because this tool uses raindrop sensor, and in cloudy / dark weather conditions the roof will be automatically closed, while at the time bright roof is open by itself, because it uses LDR (Light Dependent Resistor) sensors that can read the intensity of light. In order for the roof to open and close automatically this tool uses a rotating servo 180 degrees. This tool also uses a temperature sensor to determine the condition of the room during rain, cloudy, and bright. How this tool works when the weather conditions outside the bright LDR (Light Dependent Resistor) will read the intensity of light received and has been entered, then the servo will open the roof 180 degrees, and at that time the clothes are being sun-dried can be exposed to the sun, then otherwise if the outside conditions are overcast / dark servo will close the roof 0 degrees. And if the rain is outside raindrop sensor conditions will read the raindrop rain drops and then servo will close the roof 0 degrees so that clothes are dried sdang not be exposed to rain, so we no longer need to back and forth warmed and drying back clothes. Abstrak Dalam merancang dan membuat sebuah alat atap otomatis yang berfungsi untuk membantu manusia dalam hal menjemur pakaian, apabila terkena hujan maka secara otomatis atap akan tertutup dengan sendirinyakarena alat ini menggunakan sensor raindrop, dan pada kondisi cuaca mendung/gelap atap akan otomatis tertutup, sedangkan pada saat cerah atap dengan sendirinya terbuka, karena alat ini menggunakan sensor LDR (Light Dependent Resistor) yang dapat membaca intensitas cahaya. Agar atap dapat membuka dan menutup secara otomatis alat ini menggunakan servo yang dapat berputar 180 derajat. Alat ini juga menggunakan sensor suhu untuk mengetahui kondisi ruangan pada saat hujan, mendung, dan cerah. Cara kerja alat ini ketika pada saat kondisi cuaca diluar cerah sensor LDR (Light Dependent Resistor) akan membaca intensitas cahaya yang diterima dan telah diinputkan, maka servo akan membuka atap 180 derajat, dan pada saat itu pakaian yang sedang dijemur bisa terkena sinar matahari, kemudian sebaliknya apabila kondisi diluar sedang mendung/ gelap servo akan menutup atap 0 derajat. Dan apabila kondisi diluar sedang hujan sensor raindrop akan membaca tetesan air hujan dan kemudian servo akan menutup atap 0 derajat sehingga pakaian yang sdang dijemur tidak akan terkena hujan, sehingga kita tidak perlu lagi bolak-balik mengangat dan menjemur kembali pakaian.

The main objective of the present work is to describe the sensorless control of interior permanent magnet synchronous motor (IPMSM) for embeded systems in traction applications using the Model Reference Adaptive System (MRAS) method for speed estimation. The algorithm of this method has been adapted with the mathematical model of the motorized wheels electric vehicle. The command used is the DTC. Sensorless DTC of IPMS in-wheel motor based on MRAS for electric vehicle is simulated by Matlab/Simulink. The simulation results show the effectiveness of this proposed sensorless DTC control used for embedded system applications.

This work proposes an enhanced particle swarm optimization scheme that improves upon the performance of the standard particle swarm optimization algorithm. The proposed algorithm is based on chaos search to solve the problems of stagnation, which is the problem of being trapped in a local optimum and with the risk of premature convergence. Type 1" constriction is incorporated to help strengthen the stability and quality of convergence, and adaptive learning coefficients are utilized to intensify the exploitation and exploration search characteristics of the algorithm. Several well known benchmark functions are operated to verify the effectiveness of the proposed method. The test performance of the proposed method is compared with those of other popular population-based algorithms in the literature. Simulation results clearly demonstrate that the proposed method exhibits faster convergence, escapes local minima, and avoids premature convergence and stagnation in a high-dimensional problem space. The validity of the proposed PSO algorithm is demonstrated using a fuzzy logic-based maximum power point tracking control model for a standalone solar photovoltaic system.

This Project aims to study the application aspects of the speech recognition; speech recognition is the process by which a computer (or other type of machine) identifies spoken words. Basically, it means talking to your computer, and having it correctly recognized what you are saying. Voice or speech recognition is the ability of a machine or program to receive and interpret dictation, or to understand and carry out spoken commands. which can be used in automation system to manage electrical equipment's by voice only. We will restrict our attention to basic home appliances. The proposed system consists of Atmel's AVR Microcontroller ATmega16, relay circuit and other peripherals. Codes are developed using AVR Studio IDE and HEX files are uploaded to the controller chip by using AVR Burner through Usbasp Program loader. AMR Voice is the speech recognition software that converts speech into text commands and transmits those on Bluetooth. ISIS Proteus is advance simulation software which is used to simulate the Prototype before actual hardware implementation. — It is said that there is a need of portable music devices in order to save cost, provide a similar level of satisfaction to the user as playing on a physical instrument set does. Knowing this, why should everyone have to own a costly instrument set to start playing? For our final project, I have the intention of implementing a gesture-controlled virtual piano set on computer using Image Processing to provide a simple and fun way for people who wish to learn or simply enjoy playing the piano. More specifically, the user's hand motion would be tracked by a camera system. The piano set uses different coloured keys to ease the motion tracking. The motion tracking system will distinguish between hitting motions in different areas in front of the user and emulate sound of distinct notes based on hitting area. At a basic level, the implementation would consist of a limited number of piano keys and basic playback of sounds of the notes the user plays. Depending on available time, other features could be added. As an example, a learning mode in which the user loads preprocessed songs and is guided which keys to play to get the corresponding output. Another idea is to provide the user with an increased number of piano set notes for increased sound options. We expect that by successfully implementing the basic functionality, the system will be robust enough so that a wide range of additional features could be completed easily Key Words: Keywords—image processing, live object detecting in matlab, live detecting object in OpenCV, colour detection in matalb.

I. ABSTRACT Hybrid Power Systems are highly explored by researchers nowadays and became a key research area. Hybrid Power system is a system which combine together the output power of two or more different power sources mostly renewable power sources such as wind turbine and Solar Photovoltaic (PV), in order to drive a common load. To synchronize more than two powers is a difficult task, technically a lot of effort is consumed to make capable two different power source to drive a common load. This paper is about power synchronization of four different power sources (solar, wind, Diesel power plant, and public grid), a technique which inculcates four different power sources to drive a common load. The modeling of this system is done in Matlab/Simulink environment. Block like Solar System, Wind System, Diesel System and Public Grid are designed and results of simulations are also presented. A real time monitoring is implemented which makes decision based upon the load statistic and switches the sources when the load is increased or decreased from a pre-defined value. The extra power can also be stored via batteries and reused when needed. Software Used: Matlab2015b

Damage to the ventromedial frontal cortex (VMFC) in humans is associated with deficits in decision making. Decision making, however, often happens while people are interacting with others, where it is important to take the social consequences of a course of action into account. It is well known that VMFC lesions also lead to marked alterations in patients’ emotions and ability to interact socially; however, it has not been clear which parts of the VMFC are critical for these changes. Recently, there has been considerable interest in the role of the VMFC in choice behavior during interpersonal exchanges. Here, we highlight recent research that suggests that two areas within or adjacent to the VMFC, the orbitofrontal cortex (OFC) and the anterior cingulate cortex (ACC), may play distinct but complementary roles in mediating normal patterns of emotion and social behavior. Converging lines of evidence from human, macaque, and rat studies now suggest that the OFC may be more specialized for simple emotional responses, such as fear and aggression, through its role in representing primary reinforcement or punishment. By contrast, the ACC may play a distinct role in more complex aspects of emotion, such as social interaction, by virtue of its connections with the discrete parts of the temporal lobe and subcortical structures that control autonomic responses.

In this study, the analysis, simulation and realization of direct current to alternating current multilevel inverter are discussed. Inverter operation with the high-frequency mode is evaluated and tested for the validation of the topology. This inverter type will be used in an induction heating system or other industrial applications need high-frequency, periodic and alternating signals. The control signals of electronic switches are implemented via an open-source board, Arduino, composed of an Atmega2560 microcontroller. Simulation with MATLAB/Simulink environments and experimental results are presented, comparatively, for a comparison.

This project deals with face detection for an attendance recorder system for the purpose of maintaining attendance details of the students. Students faces are pre stored in class databases. Raspberry pi camera capture the student face and compared to database image if it is matched means that student attendance register with time. The absentees faces will be send to the authorized mail id. The Raspberry Pi is a credit card sized single computer or SoC uses ARM1176JZF-S core. System on a Chip is a method of placing all necessary electronics for running a computer on a single chip. Raspberry Pi needs an Operating system to start up. In the aim of cost reduction, the Raspberry Pi omits any on-board non-volatile memory used to store the boot loaders, Linux Kernels and file systems as seen in more traditional embedded systems. Rather, a SD/MMC card slot is provided for this purpose. After boot load, as per the application program Raspberry Pi will get execute.

Navigation assistance systems, aiming to improve safety and optimize the traffic, become more and more popular in vehicular technology. The reason is given by the significant traffic increase and congestion events in large cities, complexity of road infrastructure and unexpected or hazardous conditions that can be found on roads. This paper proposes an improvement in navigation systems by intelligently gathering traffic data provided by integrated car sensors and/or security systems and use these data to warn other participants. System concepts, architecture, preliminary design and performance evaluation aspects are presented, and also tasks organization for an embedded cost effective implementation using a real time kernel is illustrated.

Geopark merupakan langkah maju kegiatan konservasi daerah dengan tidak hanya mempertimbangkan faktor pembangunan ekonomi tetapi juga mempertimbangkan faktor geologi, arkeologi, ekologi, nilai sejarah, dan budaya. Merangin sebagai suatu kawasan yang layak untuk dibangun embeded-system yang smart dan mendukung tujuan geopark dalam bentuk smart geopark. Merangin saat ini dalam tahap perencanaan untuk dibangun kawasan geopark yang diakui nasional dan dunia. Oleh karena itu, ada dua tahapan yang penting dalam pembangunan geopark ini adalah pembangunan kawasan geopark dan mempromosikan geopark pada masyarakat dunia.
Metode yang digunakan dalam perumusan model perancangan adalah dengan studi literatur dan sintesis. Studi literatur diperlukan untuk merumuskan model yang tepat dalam membangun model smart geopark. Sintesis merupakan metode merumuskan model. Model yang diperoleh merupakan kombinasi komponen Geopark, Infrastruktur Fisik, Social Media, dan Infrastruktur IT. Masing-masing komponen memiliki tujuan yang berbeda.  Pencapaian tujuan model smart geopark tidak hanya bernilai ekonomi tetapi juga mendukung nilai konservasi geopark dan green IT.
Hasil perumusan model menunjukkan bahwa model dapat diimplementasikan untuk perancangan kerangka smart geopark merangin. Model yang terumuskan dapat mendukung aspek ekonomi, aspek promosi, dan aspek geopark sebagai edukasi masyarakat baik pengunjung langsung maupun pengunjung dunia maya. Kapabilitas social media memiliki efek katalisator yang kuat dalam mempromosikan geopark merangin melalui internet.

In the proposed system, a strategy for the control of energy consumption by home appliances is provided. The statistics of previous energy production and consumption of a case study city are used in providing the strategy. In the design of the proposed system, home appliances are categorized into three levels of priority, even though it can be more than three. In this article the control of energy consumption is achieved using a real time energy consumption manager (ECM) based on stored data without the need for real time communication. The system which is proposed here is affordable and simple. Also, it does not require grid upgrade or power line communication through the grid.

ABSTRAK Pengembangan Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) merupakan salah satu fokus penelitian Lembaga Penerbangan dan Antariksa Negara (LAPAN) khususnya Pusat Teknologi Penerbangan (Pustekbang). LSU-02 adalah salah satu hasil UAV yang berhasil dikembangkan oleh LAPAN. Take off dan landing merupakan salah satu tolak ukur performance dari sebuah UAV. LSU-02 kedepannya akan dikembangkan sistem take off dan landing secara otomatis. Oleh sebab itu perlu dilakukan pengujian sistem sebelum dapat direalisasikan pada pesawat. Pengujian dilakukan menggunakan metode HILS (Hardware In The Loop Simulation) dengan Flight Control APM 2.6, software X-Plane 10 sebagai simulator dan Mission Planner sebagai GCS (Ground Control System). Dari pengujian didapat nilai parameter take off dengan sudut pitch sebesar 15°, dibutuhkan waktu take off 17.7 detik dan jarak 19 m. Sedangkan nilai parameter landing didapatkan dengan sudut flare 12° dan ketinggian landing 20 m, waktu dan jarak yang dibutuhkan adalah 32.43 detik dan 197.6 m.

The number of secretarial tasks that many allow human error. Many companies have more than one secretary for one manager. To simplify the work of the secretary and the efficiency of the company, it takes the work of a secretary in the form of robots. The development of voice user interface technology enables hands-free work with voice commands. The development of sound technology can be applied to the secretary robot for more practical use. For speech recognition using the Hidden Markov Model (HMM) method applied through a pocketfilm application. From this research found the use of pocketbowx application for voice command recognition successfully done by making the language model from command list using lmtool cmmph database application application system cmusphinx output, while lower accuracy was found by using pocketsphinx standard language model caused by the amount of vocabulary in model language default. Abstrak: Jumlah tugas kesekretariatan yang banyak memungkinkan kesalahan manusia. Banyak perusahaan memiliki lebih dari satu sekretaris untuk satu orang manajer. Untuk menyederhanakan kerja sekretaris dan efisiensi perusahaan maka diperlukan kerja sekretaris berupa robot. Pengembangan teknologi antarmuka pengguna suara memungkinkan dilakukannya kerja hands-free dengan perintah suara. Perkembangan teknologi suara bisa diterapkan ke robot sekretaris agar lebih praktis penggunaannya. Untuk pengenalan suara menggunakan metode Hidden Markov Model (HMM) yang diterapkan melalui aplikasi pocketfilm. Dari penelitian ini ditemukan penggunaan aplikasi pocketbowx untuk pengenalan perintah suara berhasil dilakukan dengan membuat model bahasa dari daftar perintah menggunakan sistem aplikasi basis pengetahuan lmtool cmusphinx output, sedangkan keakuratan yang lebih rendah ditemukan dengan menggunakan model bahasa standar pocketsphinx yang disebabkan oleh jumlah kosa kata dalam bahasa model bawaan.

—Simultaneous Localization and Mapping (SLAM) is the problem of constructing a 3D map while simultaneously keeping track of an agent location within the map. In recent years, work has focused in systems that use a single camera as the only sensing mechanism (monocular-SLAM). 3D reconstruction (map) by monocular-SLAM systems is a point cloud where all points preserve high accuracy and can deliver visual environmental information. However, the maximum number of points in the cloud is limited by the tracked features, this is named " sparse cloud problem ". In this work, we propose a new SLAM framework that is robust enough for indoor/outdoor SLAM applications, and at the same time increases the 3D map density. The point cloud density is increased by applying a new feature-tracking/dense-tracking algorithm in the SLAM formulation. In order to achieve real-time processing, the algorithm is formulated to facilitate a parallel FPGA implementation. Preliminary results show that it is possible to obtain dense mapping (superior to previous work) and accurate camera pose estimation (localization) under several real-world conditions.

7 th International Conference on Control, Modeling and Computing (CMC 2021) will provide an excellent international forum for sharing knowledge and results in theory, methodology and applications of Control Engineering, Modeling, Computing and Applications. The goal of this Conference is to bring together researchers and practitioners from academia and industry to focus on understanding modern Control Engineering, Modeling and Computing concepts and establishing new collaborations in these areas. Authors are solicited to contribute to the conference by submitting articles that illustrate research results, projects, surveying works and industrial experiences that describe significant advances in the areas of control engineering, modeling and computing. The measurement of microbial contamination is of primary importance in different fields, from environmental monitoring to food safety and clinical analysis. Today, almost all microbiology laboratories make microbial concentration measurements using the standard Plate Count Technique (PCT), a manual method that must be performed by trained personnel. Since manual PCT analysis can result in eye fatigue and errors, in particular when hundreds of samples are processed every day, automatic colony counters have been built and are commercially available. While quick and reliable, these instruments are generally expensive, thus, portable colony counters based on smartphones have been developed and are of low cost but also not accurate as the commercial benchtop instruments. In this paper, a novel computer vision sensor system is presented that can measure the microbial concentration of a sample under test and also estimate the microbial growth kinetics by monitoring the colonies grown on a Petri dish at regular time intervals. The proposed method has been in-house validated by performing PCT analysis in parallel under the same conditions and using these results as a reference. All the measurements have been carried out in a laboratory using benchtop instruments, however, such a system can also be realized as an embedded sensor system to be deployed for microbial analysis outside a laboratory environment.
