Mengapa ada penderitaan? Dan mengapa harus saya yang menderita? Bahkan Yesus pun tidak memberikan jawabannya, namun Dia melangkahkan kaki dengan perlahan menuju pada puncak salib, hingga diri-Nya sendiri mengalami kekosongan, kesendirian, keheningan yang berteriak: Allah-Ku, ya Allah-Ku... Mengapa Kau tinggalkan Aku?
Penderitaan sebagai sebuah jalan kekudusan menjadi sebuah tawaran yang menarik untuk dijalani supaya kita mengenal tahap-tahap panggilan kita saat ini, sehingga mengetahui waktu saat Tuhan lewat. Selamat berproses di bawah kayu salib Tuhan.

Carcinoma of the prostate is one of the common tumours of old age in men. This cross sectional study was conducted to detect carcinoma of prostate in clinically benign enlarged gland and to evaluate the efficacy of Digital rectal Examination in detection of prostatic cancer in patients presented at Khyber Teaching Hospital, Peshawar from July 1998 to July 1999. Patients presenting with lower urinary tract symptoms over the age of 50 years were evaluated on English version of International Prostate Symptoms Score (IPSS), clinically examined and post-voiding residual urine determined on abdominal sonography. The selection criteria were; Severe IPSS, absence of signs of malignancy on Digital Rectal Examination (DRE) and post-voiding residual urine more than 100 ml. Thus a total 100 patients were selected for further study. Four ml blood was taken to assess Prostate Specific Antigen (PSA) level pre-operatively. Sekilas Tentang Kitab Ayub Dalam pendekatan studi Kitab Suci, Kitab Ayub termasuk dalam kelompok kitab Kebijaksanaan. Diperkirakan kitab ini ditulis dalam rentang abad V hingga abad II SM. Dalam kurun waktu tersebut, tampak bahwa penulis sering melakukan revisi. Adapun konteks masa penulisan kitab tersebut adalah ketika bangsa Israel akhirnya diperbolehkan oleh Raja Koresh dari Persia untuk kembali ke tanah Kanaan. Kala itu, bangsa Israel mengalami perbudakan di Babilonia dalam waktu yang cukup lama. Hal ini membuat kepulangan mereka dipenuhi dengan kecemasan, ketakutan, dan ketidakpastian. Sekalipun banyak yang merayakannya dengan kegembiaraan, namun tak sedikit pula yang menyambut pembebasan Israel dengan pesimistis. Hal ini menjadi wajar bila melihat sejarah hidup bangsa Israel yang dipenuhi oleh penindasan dari bangsa lain.1 Berkaitan dengan proses pembacaan, tidak dipungkiri bila tampak kejanggalan dalam bentuk lahiriah kitab ini. Misalnya, awal dan akhir buku dalam bahasa prosa, seluruh bagian tengan dalam bentuk puisi serta deretan pidato dalam Bab 32-37 yang dikemukakan oleh tokoh yang "tiba-tiba" muncul, yakni Elihu.2 Sementara itu, buku ini menyuguhkan kisah Allah yang berkompromi dengan setan dalam mencelakai Ayub. Allah digambarkan seakan-akan tidak peduli terhadap doa Ayub. Tentu, penggambaran ini berbeda dengan gambaran Allah yang disampaikan oleh Yesus sendiri.3 Dalam pemahaman lebih lanjut, agaknya kita perlu menyadari bahwa buku ini untuk menjawab persoalan penderitaan manusia. Ayub yang digambarkan sebagai seorang yang saleh, nyatanya mengalami penderitaan yang cukup hebat. Tidak hanya itu, ia mengalami pelbagai tuduhan yang tidak mengenakkan dari ketiga sahabatnya; Elifas, Bildad, Zofar (Ayb 2:13). Ia didakwa sebagai pendosa berat akibat penderitaannya tersebut. Hingga akhirnya, pada titik tertentu ia memahami kemahakuasaan Allah seraya memohon ampunan dari-Nya. Secara garis besar, kisah Ayub terbagi menjadi tiga pemababakan. Awal kisah (Ayb 1:1-2:13) dimulai dengan proses Allah mencobai Ayub. Kemudian, kisah disusul dengan dinamika batin Ayub yang menantang Allah karena penderitaannya (Ayb 2:11-31:40). Hingga pada bagian penutup, kitab ini menceritakan Allah yang menantang balik Ayub (Ayb 32:1-42:17).4 Berkenaan makalah ini, penulis akan memberi penekanan pada tahapan kedua dan ketiga saja. Agaknya langkah ini dilakukan agar pembaca mampu menemukan kaitannya dalam kehidupan sehari-hari.

BACKGROUND The incidence of thoracic trauma has rapidly increased in this century of high speed vehicles, violence and various other disasters. It has been observed that chest intubation was required in more than 75% of patients. METHODS This prospective study was performed in cardiothoracic surgery unit of Ayub Teaching Hospital Abbottabad from Jun 2007 to Dec 2007. A total of 114 consecutive patients with chest trauma were included in the study, their patterns of injuries classified, treatment strategies and outcome were recorded on a proforma. RESULTS Out of 114 patients with chest trauma, 76 (66.65%) were having penetrating and 38 (33.33%) had blunt trauma. Haemothorax was detected in 67 (58.77%), Pneumothorax in 23 (20.17%), rib fracture in 11 (15.02%) and diaphragmatic injuries in 4 (3.5%) cases. Overall complication rate was 14%. During the last two decades with the introduction of statins large reductions in cholesterol concentrations were easily and safely achievable and this led to studies that demonstrated benefits of statin use. But only fewer than one fourth of adults with coronary heart disease were receiving lipid-lowering drugs in a cross sectional health survey done in England. Thus this study was designed to evaluate the frequency of statin use in type 2 Pakistani diabetic subjects with macrovascular disease attending a tertiary care unit in Karachi, Pakistan.
