Not long before the third season premiere, The CW put the cast and crew of The Outpost back to work on 13 additional episodes. While some outlets called this a fourth season renewal, the network has confirmed to us that the extra installments are part of an extended third season. Will The Outpost get a true fourth season renewal or, will the series be cancelled instead? Stay tuned. *Status Update Below.
An adventure-fantasy series, The Outpost stars Jessica Green, Jake Stormoen, Imogen Waterhouse, Anand Desai-Barochia, Aaron Fontaine, Adam Johnson, Izuka Hoyle, and Jaye Griffiths. The story centers on Talon (Green), the lone survivor of the “Blackbloods” race. When she was still a child, a ruthless mercenary gang slaughtered her entire village. Now that she has come of age, Talon has come into a mysterious power. In season three, Talon finds herself betrayed by her own kind, after summoning Zed and his Blackblood comrades to save the Outpost. She struggles to reconcile her human friends and her heritage.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s chances of staying on the air. The higher the ratings, the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available.
10/8 update: You can see the latest night’s ratings in context.
Note: If you’re not seeing the updated chart, please try reloading the page or view it here.
For comparisons: Season two of The Outpost on The CW averaged a 0.13 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 59,000 viewers.
Note: These are the final national numbers (unless noted with an “*”). These are different from the fast affiliate numbers which are just estimates of the actual ratings. The final nationals are typically released within 24 hours of the programming or, in the case of weekends and holidays, a couple days later.
What do you think? Do you like The Outpost TV series on The CW? Should it be cancelled or renewed for a fourth season?
*9/16/21 update: The Outpost has been cancelled on The CW.
The show went from an average of 0.14(S1) to 0.13(S2) down to a 0.6 for season three, or 3+4, or whatever you want to call it. That is really atrocious, but there are plenty of Tv shows (on other networks) with ratings this poor that are still on the air. Perhaps they couldn’t get any of the streaming channels to help out, or they couldn’t sell the past seasons.
Apparently, The Outpost was preempted frequently by sports in many markets.
Well apparently the 3rd season is only 13 episodes and IMDB is listing the 3rd season as only 13 episode and season 4 is already airing, either way I consider this season as the fourth season NOT season 3
This is what the showrunner and TPTB consider it as well, S4. 🙂
I love the outpost
love the outpost!!! funny, enjoyable for the whole family. nice balance of story and action
The Outpost is one of the most original shows to come along since Xena. It’s exciting, suspenseful and unexpected, and has a strong, confident female lead (made more interesting by the fact that Jessica Green (Talon) does a lot of her own stunts)). Its everything a great show should be. It should definitely be renewed.
We love this show keep it going please.!
I love the Outpost! Please tell me Imogene Waterhouse’s character isn’t really gone. First Tobin, now Gwyn? NO WAY! Really looking forward to the next 13 episodes! I hope it runs for many more years.
26 eps for a low rating show?! This is odd in the history.
First they ordered 13 episodes. After a while they ordered another 13 episodes. BUT the additional 13 episodes are considered to be S4, not as part of S3, even though they’re labeled S3 almost everywhere. So says the showrunner. 🙂
