TV show description:
From Desiree Akhavan, who stars in, directs, co-writes, and co-created (with Cecilia Frugiuele) the series, The Bisexual TV show is comedy-drama with a fresh take on sex, love, and relationships. The story follows Leila (Akhavan), a New Yorker who decides she needs to take a “break” from Sadie (Peake), her longtime personal and professional partner.
Complicating Leila and Sadie’s separation is the fact that they still have to see one another every day at their tech company. Still, Leila moves out and rents a room from Gabe (Gleeson), a 30-something writer. Although Gabe’s very first novel was a breakout success, it has since been forgotten, and now he finds himself rather undone by the entire ordeal.
Not long after breaking from Sadie, Leila starts sleeping with men, but finds it difficult to come out as bi to Sadie and their gay friends. Gabe winds up supporting her as she adapts to dating both sexes, while the series delves into the differences between dating men and women, from Leila’s point of view. She’s now on a journey in order to figure out how to live the life she needs to live, even if that means leaving her love behind.
Series Finale:
Episode #6
Sadie makes a revelation that leaves Leila questioning everything. She turns to Gabe. As they lean on each other, their relationship born out of awkwardness evolves into one of genuine friendship.
First aired: November 16, 2018.
