Are you ready to monkey around - in a colourful way!

Good morning all

Sorry I'm a bit late this morning - I had left my post in draft by mistake so it didn't publish - anyway...

it's the first challenge of the new year at

and our lovely Carol is hosting this week

She has chosen a picture/colour inspiration for us

Perfect for Shabby chicPerfe design - pink and turqoiuse colors

I decided to go with the colours - I was going to use flowers and leaves as well but went with a ribbon instead - now I'm thinking I would have liked the flowers version better - hmm if you can't please yourself there's not much chance of anything is there - I might refurbish it - I'll let you know!!!
(by the way - the satin ribbon and pearl embellie is not as wonky as it looks here - rubbish photo skills lol)

I thought I'd use this cute image from The Paper Shelter - it's a bit different from anything that's around just now - quite new, and very cute

Called Monkeys! it is available here in The Paper Shelter shop

This is what I did......

Image - Monkeys! from The Paper Shelter
Coloured with copics and Spectrum Nior pencils
Papers - Spring Feast from first Edition
Sentiment stamps - Anna Griffin
Ribbon - Carnmeal Cottage
Pearl /Ribbon embellie - creative expressions
Pearls from my stash

Hope you'll join us over at MAWTT this week - it's a lovely colour pallette - and I'm sure most floral cards will fit in with the theme too

Challenges I'm entering with this card

Tuesday throwdown - favourite embellie (ribbon)
try it on tuesday - favourite things (ribbon)

What have you got inside!

Good morning all

Well there's a question and one we'd like to see the answer to
at Fab'n Funky challenges this week
our challenge this week is

What's inside?
(decorate inside your card)

I do always decorate inside of my cards to match the outside - though I don't often show the inside on my blog.  But here I am showing my inside off today!!
Just as well its not my real insides - I dread to think what it looks like in there yuk!

We are sponsored this week by the fab

who are offering a fab prize of $10 to spend in their shop

We were lucky enough to get some cute images to play with
I chose this cute little girl called

Mimi Stars 4 - available here

The layout of this card came about by accident really - I was making a scalloped edge to go down the side edge with a ribbon but when I put the scallop together I thought it sort of looked like a pelmet and as this little girl looks like she's on the stage I decided to mount it on 3d foam along the top of the card and leave it at that!  I decorate the inside to match using the same layout.  I've also been getting a bit attached to my stickles of late so gave them a bit of an outing on this card too!

This is what I did...

Image - Mimi Stars 4 from stamp fairy
Coloured with copics
Paper Lili of the Valley - petal fresh
Card - Bazzill basics
Stickles - diamond stickles
Dies - Scallop edges - spellbinders
corners - Whimsy stamps- corner die set
tags and stars - dienamics notched tag set
Ribbon - carnmeal cottage
Gems - from my stash

We would really love to see what in your insides over at Fab'n'Funky Challenges this week

Make it monday - anything goes

Delightful Challenges punches and Dies Challenge

Hello again

I have yet another Christmas project for you today - I'm well as truly Christmasfied (is that a word!) this week!!  This cute little girl is Caroling Penny from Digital delights and its my DT card for this week at Delightful Challenges.  There are some fabulous designs on the challenge blog, have a look over there I'm sure you'll be impressed

I just love little Penny - too cute! there are so many Digital Delight digis to choose from my problem in doing my DT cards is just too much bloomin' choice!  I decided to keep the card quite plain and simple.  Although there are several layers I managed to restrain myself with the embellies and just keep the focus on the image which I made fairly large.   I love colouring in red, I used to avoid it like the plague at one time but through practice I've developed a technique of breaking it into sections and creating folds and  that makes it far easier to deal with, also I wouldn't be without my white gel pen to cover up the mistakes lol.

This is what I did.....

Image - Caroling Penny from digital delights
Sentiment - Christmas sentiment set from Digital Delights
Coloured with copics and prismacolor pencils
Skin E21,E00, E000  Clothes R39, R37,R35,G63,G61,G11,  boots E43,E41,E40 Shading C1,C3
Pencils - Tuscan red, Cool grey 70%, Light Umber
Papers - Silent night from Papermania (got these a couple of years ago - hope they're still around this year)
Kraft card - QVC
Die cuts all from Spellbinders
Ribbon - Carnmeal Cottage
Foam holly and berries - American Crafts

Tha'ts my last Christmas project for the week - had a whole Christmas overload this week

Have a great weekend everyone

MAWTT challenge day - anything but a card

Good Morning all

Hope you're all well this fine morning.

I'm still away on holiday but the end is nigh!!  To all of you suffering with the effects of the wonderful British weather (most people from what I can gather) it might make you feel better that it hasn't been so good here in Florida either.  We've been coming to Florida for 17 years now and this is definately the worst weather we've ever had.  Don't get me wrong we've had some gorgeous weather while we've been here and in Florida its normal to get rain almost every day - but its usually a huge downpour all over in half an hour and dry again in 10 minutes.  These last few days its been mostly  grey and miserable with lots of rain - still hot but wet at the same time!

Its also a bit like a hospital here in our house, my hubby Dean's got this cold and cough that he can't get rid of - in fact it's getting worse (to be honest I 'm sick of hearing him cough) and I had to go to the walk in medical centre yesterday becaused I've got an ear infection (they're calling it swimmers ear!).  No good old national health here it cost about £70 for the consultation and another £80 for antibiotic ear drops, on the bright side the by mouth antibiotics I got were free.  But my insurance excess is £150 so thats that!

I think I caught it in time - my ear's more sore and uncomfortable than painful but no swimming or washing of hair for me, oh well worse things have happened.

I managed to get this tag/giftcard holder made for this weeks MAWTT challenge before I left
The challenge is hosted by our talented Lisa Jane who has chosen the theme

Anything but a card

I have to admit the photograph's not the best - it has a little loop on the top so you could hang it up and for some reason I didn't photograph the back of the tag either!  There's a little pocket in the back to put a gift card - hey-ho! thats what happens when you rush to get something done -sorry.

This weeks challenge is being sponsored by
Stitchy Bear digital stamps

who are offering a fab prize of $10 to spend in store for this weeks challenge winner

This is what I did...

Tag cut from lemon and layered with pink card
Image - inky impressions roller skating Lili
Coloured with - Promarkers and prismacolor pencils
Fun Stickers and rub ons - K and Co
Ribbon - Carnmeal Cottage

Hope you'll all join us over at MAWTT this week - look forward to seeing anything but a card!

Its challenge day over at Fab'n'Funky challenges

Hi blog Friends

Its another challenge day over at Fab'n'Funky Challenges and this week we have the theme

Use fabric on your card

We are being sponsored by the wonderful Lili of the Valley this week so lets see your Fab'n'Funky creations for this great challenge I've used this lovely Lili of the valley Vtamp that I got for my birthday in March and was until now uninked - disgraceful!  Though because its a new house stamp its not the sort of thing you jump to immediately but I great one to have in your collection.  Wasn't sure what to do about the fabric so decided to go with felt flowers.

Good morning blog friends

Hope you all had a good bank holiday weekend and that the weather hasn't been too bad.  All in all we've had pretty good weather here in the frozen north!  Been a bit chilly but lovely and bright and sunny and only a couple of showers so I think we did OK.

I've had a pretty full on weekend so haven't visited many of you and have just managed to get my DT cards done by the skin of my teeth! - Things should get back to normal soon and I'll be out and about catching up on my visits.  So on to this fortnights challenge over at

Its Summer sunshine at MAWTT - who am I kidding!!!

Good morning blog friends

Its Thursday yet again - and time for another new challenge at Moving Along with the Times.  This week our lovely Claire is hosting and has chosen the theme summer sunshine.  I presume this is wishful thinking from Claire cos we sure ain't got any!! .... but I'm pretty sure that if enough people join in with the challenge we could have some by the end of the week at MAWTT at least!!

I found this challenge a bit challenging!  Couldn't come up with a DT card at all - then I saw this digi on another blog and it was love at first sight!  It is from stamping dragon designs  and called beach scene.

the inside

I have never coloured such a big scene before and I quite enjoyed the challenge but when I finished felt as if something was missing probly because it has no central figure so decided to add some glitter for a bit of extra focus and I was even pleased with that too! There's very little to this card really but it reminds me of holidays and sunshine so that can't be a bad thing.

What I did....

Image - Beach scene from stamping dragon designs
coloured with copics and prismacolor pencils

Gardening Gems at My Time to Craft

Hello again!

It's my busy week for challenges this week and the second for today

Today's challenge at My Time to Craft is

Gardening gems

Heres my DT card for the challenge

I love this little girl and I have to confess she reminds me of myself when I was little, my hair was just like that.  My husband said the same thing when he looked at the card , probably because we had the old photos out quite recently, so he was reminded.  I have to confess that this card was a happy accident.  I made it for another challenge that I thought was ribbons and pearls but it turned out to be lace and pearls so it didn't fit!  I could have pulled that gorgeous ribbon off and replaced it with lace but I just couldn't bring myself to do it because it wouldn't have looked half as nice and  I knew it would fit in with another challenge sometime - and this is it!

This is a lovely challenge - a chance to get out all your flowers and pretty papers and garden related stash and make a lovely spring themed  card perfect for our sunny spring days - that we're not getting, but at least you can make a card and pretend lol !!

Heres what I did....

Image - digi from Digi Doodle Shop  "field of flowers"
Coloured with - Copics and Prismacolour Pencils
Card - Coredinations Kore Kraft by Tim Holtz - distressed by sanding the edges
Organza Ribbon - Carnmeal Cottage

An easel wedding card

Happy Good Friday!

I've been rushing about trying to get s wedding card finished for my daughter to take to a wedding they are going to this weekend.  Her husband Steven is best man so it hasd to fit the "special" bill.  I've made various cards over the last few year for Claire - who is the bride and she always loves her handmade cards so I know it will be well received.

I decided to use this lovely Lili of the Valley stamp, I've used it several times for wedding cards, its so simple that I think it allows you to go a bit overboard with the embellies whereas if the image is fussy I'm inclined to hold back a bit - suppose it depends what sort of card you want really.

I've use the three photos to try and show the card off to its best.  its a really dull day and I just couldn't get a good photo in or outside so hopefully you've got the idea!

What I did....

Stamp and sentiment - lili of the valley
Coloured with - copics and prismacolor pencils
Card - craftwork cards
Papers - prima meadow lark
pearl swirls - personal impressions
Flowers - wild orchid and others
Die cut swirl - memory box
Die cut circles - spell binders
Ribbon - carnmeal cottage

I'm entering this card for the following challenges

Lilis little fairies - ribbons and bows
Totally Papercrafts - Bingo (pink, glitter, pearls)
Wags'n Whiskers - say it with flowers
The pretty little ribbon - Dies to die for
4 crafty chicks - flowers

Thats all for me today
See you tomorrow

It's Easter at Fab'n'Funky Challenges

Hi there blog friends

Here I am with my very late post!  I've had a total nightmare with blogger over the last few days - could only get in for about 10 minutes at a time before getting booted out and up loading photos was nigh on impossible - just about did my head in!!  So sorry  that I haven't been visiting these last couple of days but to be honest I just gave up - I'll try and do a catch up x

Anyway back to the real business

Today is challenge day at Fab'n'Funky challenges and the theme is

Make an Easter card

a closer look at the detail

We are being sponsored this week by

I just loved this little girl when I  saw her -a perfect Easter image and I could just see her in a little denim dress and black shiny shoes - so thats what she got.  I decided to bling up her Easter eggs with different coloured glitters and then I couldn't stop! So she got glitter on her dress, in her hair flowers and the bow on her basket, only the bunny escaped but if he'd had a bow round his neck he'd have got it too - funny how glitter does that to you lol!  After all that glitter I thought I'd better hold back on too many embellies

This is what I did ...

Its challenge day at My time to Craft

Hi Blog friends

Today is challenge day at My Time to Craft and the theme for this fortnight is

Make an Easel Card

I'm not big on easel cards and haven't made one for ages but I did enjoy making this card and I might just do it again soon. I think the only thing about easel cards is that not everyone (as in non crafters!) knows what to do with them.

I made this card for my daughters birthday - her birthday is actually today - Happy birthday Alison.  Not that she'll be reading this because she's gone to Centre Parks in the Lake District for the week with her husband and little baby son, to celebrate her birthday (today) her husbands birthday (also today) and their wedding anniversary (also today) !!!

I got some new papers through the week and just love them.  As soon as I saw this one - its sunkiss from prima - I knew what I was going to do with this card, isn't it great when that happens - certainly gets the mojo going

a close up of the detail

the base of the card
This is what I did

Papers - Sunkiss by prima
Stamp - Pretty bouquet by Lili of the Valley
Coloured with - Copics and Prismacolor pencils
Scalloped card - craftwork cards
Flowers by Prima and Wild Orchid crafts
Charm - a little complementary charm I got in a lovely little bag from My crafty heart  - ah thanks
Sentiment -  with Paintbox poppets from Crafters Companion
Diecut (behind sentiment) spellbinders
Ribbon - Carnmeal Cottage
pearls from my stash

So let's see you over at My Time to Craft with your easel cards and go on over and have a look at the other DT girls cards - we really have got some stunning cards this week

Iam enrering this card into the following challenges

Simon says -Lets Play Bingo - flowers/pearls/charms
Sweet stampin challenge - Anything goes
Lollipop crafts challenge - Anything goes
Hooked on craft - more than one fold
Thats me for now
