For 35 years Chris Ladd has enjoyed being a character actor in movies,
television and stage productions. From his early years in high school,
he knew that he loved acting and wanted to pursue an acting career. He
became a member of the Thespians Society at Jackson High School and
continued his studies throughout college.
He landed a supporting role as the Marshal in the Oklahoma City Theatre production of "Oklahoma!". It was just a small part, but he made it his part, and soon became a favorite, ending up staying in the production for its four-week run. that ended up making the
After returning home to Tennessee, Chris was working for the local television station when he was cast in the following three productions of the Life of Buford Pusser, and landing a speaking role in Final Chapter: Walking Tall (1977). It was this part that led to his playing a recurring role in three episodes of the hit series Barnaby Jones (1973).
Since the 1970s Chris has done character parts in such films as The Liberation of L.B. Jones (1970), Ghost Stories (1997), "Valley of Lost Souls", High Roller: The Stu Ungar Story (2003), and several local and national commercials.
Today, while he continues to seek roles, Chris is proud of being a member of the Screen Actors Guild and AFTRA. He serves on the Nashville SAG Council and the Nashville AFTRA Board of Directors. He has also co-host the Annual West Tennessee Cerebral Palsy Telthon for 40 years.
