Anthony Barclay is an actor and producer, known for Domina (2021), Judge John Deed (2003-2006) and Common As Muck (1994-1997). He is married to Antonia Fiber. They have one child. He was previously married to the comic actor, Doon Mackichan.
He has three daughters, India Lily, Ella-Rose and Esme-Violet, and one son, Louis.
His father was singer Danny Williams, who had a number one hit in the UK with "Moon River" in 1961. His father also toured with The Beatles, or rather, they toured with him since they were just on the cusp of blowing up. He recorded a swing album with Nelson Riddle who was famed for recording with Frank Sinatra, (among many other luminaries), had a number of hits in the UK, a couple of hits in The States and had Nat King Cole (Danny's hero) declare that he wouldn't record a version of 'Moon River' because there was no way that Danny's version could be bettered.
From 2010- 2013 Barclay worked extensively with the actor/writer/director, Steven Berkoff, on a number of Berkoff's original productions both written and directed by Berkoff (Biblical Tales; Line up; Gas, and Oedipus: After Sophocles which was produced both in the UK and in the US).
As a younger actor, Barclay also worked with Stephen Sondheim, performing as The Balladeer in the European premier of Assassins at the Donmar Warehouse, London, directed by Sam Mendes; Young Buddy in Follies at the Shaftesbury Theatre, London, with Eartha Kitt, and the European premier of Pacific Overtures in. which he played The Boy in the Tree. 2023 sees Barclay as Councillor Sutt across season 2 of Foundation, Apple TV+.
