Surprised there is absolutely no feedback on this (Prepare as I do my best "snobby middle-aged progressive-thinking divorced film critic" impression).
It's quite far-fetched to think any short film can compete with current emotional standards. Shorter film projects carry a burden of captivating an audience and executing a plot in such a limited time frame. However, those limitations force an artist to experiment and conceive something non-traditional, unorthodox, and different. While it is easy to pick apart one's creation and categorize it into past film works, it's refreshing to watch something minimal yet saturated in great detail.
The simple production scale is what brought out the beauty of a young man's pursuit of cinematography. There was no need for any grand/spectacular effects or avant garde cinematography, the intriguing story and genuine acting was really all that was needed. There is no more to discuss without diving in deeper to the film. Just sit back, spare ten minutes, and enjoy a project that clearly spaces itself away from the lackluster crowd of similar genre. Deserves the score it has for first time film makers.
Hope there's more.
