James Avalon delivers 4 effective vignettes making for 2-1/2 hours of quality Adult Entertainment for his latterday employers, Canada's Mile High Media.
Only fly in the ointment is the lack of surprise in these unspoilable 1-act plays, since the revelation at curtain every time has to be that the protagonists having sex were just pretending to be strangers, hence the title "Roleplay". In a field where acting has very nearly disappeared, these Adult performers are acting up a storm.
Final vignette was my favorite, as Blair Williams makes for a most enticing Swedish masseuse (client makes fun of her accent, though again, he, she and us viewers all know she's just pretending). Titled "Tantric Massage" it's staged in a white-on-white room just as so many Massage genre videos of late, but is very well-photographed by Avalon and his teammate Matt Holder, with Ramon Nomar playing the lucky client cum husband.
Opening segment "Pick Up Artist", not about James Toback and his harrassing foibles but again just fakery for sparking the relationship, has James Deen picking up lovely Harley Jade in a bar. I spotted all-time great Veronica Hart in medium/long shot cameoing as the bartender (I'd know her anywhere) and the scene plays well enough except for Deen's smug and robotic approach.
"Stranger Danger" capitalizes on leading lady Karlie Brooks looking as if she were about 13 years old as she hitchhikes and ends up servicing never-aging Jean Val Jean. Since this is clearly role-playing by a couple no sense of kiddie porn action is generated.
Most frivolous vignette has bubbly Kimmy Granger delivering a "Strip-O-Gram" to her man Logan Pierce. This being XXX territory, nudity is just for starters in a rather cornball scene that plays in the manner of Adult content from several decades back.
