Mile High's Icon Male label for gay porn is now in the pattern of capitalizing on its successful first couple of years of videos and web content, with each series hitting the 2 to 4 volume mark. That means less creativity and more of an assembly-line approach for mastermind Nica Noelle, as evidenced in this second edition of her Infidelity vignettes.
The four segments suffer from overlap, in that actors playing different characters may work fine when streaming from a website but is detrimental to watching an hour and a half DVD. The story/character set-up scenes are so brief (90% of the action is raw sex, as usual) that I found my interest waning when both Adam Russo and newcomer Derek Reed popped up suddenly in brand-new roles.
Russo is among the best players in Nica's troupe, and does a good job in the opening segment, which starts with pleasantly old-fashioned S.O.L.I. footage of him and young Reed on their bicycles, enjoying the New England location in what looks like Fall but was shot this past summer. He's spending time getting to know his girlfriend's son, and unsurprisingly seduces the boy. Casting an actress in a small setup role as the girlfriend would have helped put across this segment, but Nica has strayed from that practice recently.
Adam returns in the final vignette playing a sympathetic sex therapist who's treating sex addict Killian James. Their session is interrupted by a phone call from Adam's wife (again no one is cast on-screen in the femme role), and like his previous character the underlying subject matter of infidelity is based on bisexuality. That would be an interesting subject for Nica to pursue, but she is content to merely deliver the requisite boy/boy sex content here.
Reed's other scene involves the same issue: he's fallen for his sister's sexy Latin boyfriend Devon Felix. There's some angst on Reed's part, though poaching on sis is not really cheating -that is what Felix is doing. Skin-tone contrast with Nica's latest heartthrob discovery Felix's dark complexion is the dominant feature of this portion of the program.
Remaining vignette has two other actors involved: Roman Todd and Billie Ramos in a contrived tale of a guy's who's gotten engaged, but has an affair with his fiancee's brother. For the fourth time, the lady in question is missing in action from the video. The DVD liner proclaims this affair is with one's brother-in-law but the action on screen and dialog clearly spell out that there's been no marriage yet. Like the other Reed or Russo scenes, there's not much impact to the "cheating" scenarios, but rather boys being boys together wearing condoms - the mantra that drives nearly all Icon Male content.
