The crowd extras for the video were originally specially invited from the official QUEEN UK fan club. The directors had wanted about 500 people to make up the crowd but when they visited the studios two or three days beforehand to start setting up the cameras and lighting they realized the studio space was much bigger than they had realized and 500 people would not be sufficient. Filmed in May 1986, the day before this video was shot, in desperation lead singer Freddie Mercury asked a contact at London commercial radio station Capital Radio, to put out a request on the 'Graham Dene Breakfast show' for another 500 people to come along as extras for the filming and to be at the filming studios for 10am the next day with shooting to start about an hour later and to last about three hours. It is not known how many extra people turned up or had to be turned away but everyone who was in the shoot was given a commemorative T shirt as a thank-you by the band.
