originally there was a planned sixth series in the sixth series Alan Bank's is still Detective Chief Inspector and investigating the murder of Steven Richard's (the killer of Annie Cabbot) who was stabbed to death by a follow inmate. DCI Helen Morton decides to except a transfer to the Met in London and Annie Cabbot's daughter Isla and David Hornby are still mourning the death of Annie Cabbot but the series was abruptly cancelled

Goofs
When Alan is battling RIchards in one of final scenes, DCI Banks starts fighting with his suit coat on. By the end of the scene he is coat less, but there isn't any previous scenes where his coat comes off.
