Every title of an episode has always involved a color (which was always red before Red John was finally killed). While this title "Byzantium" may seem to not fit, it is an actual color name, used for one of the many shades of dark purple.

The Fingernail

The FBI is investigating the murder of two teenagers with their fingernail missing and Abbott misses Patrick Jane, who vanished. Out of the blue, a woman and his brother Gabriel come to the FBI offering his psychic services and discloses details of the murder, becoming the person of interest. Cho and Wiley stake out Gabriel but Wiley is attacked from behind and does not see the attacker. Patrick is forced to return and helps the case, but meanwhile Gabriel and his sister are murdered.

"Byzantium" is a strange episode of "The Mentalist" with a slow beginning. The plot becomes better and better when the agents discover that there is another serial-killer in the city. My vote is eight.
