One think I particularly like to watch are TV pilots...especially those for failed shows which never saw the light of day. So, when I noticed this one on YouTube I was eager to watch. After all, a few of these shows (such as "Lookwell") are really exceptional and you wonder what might have been had they been approved. "Scared Stiff" is not one that could fall in that category.
The show featured Bob Denver and Warren Berlinger as private eyes...and rather dopey ones at that. They are hired for a case and soon it all becomes rather confusing and frightening. And, somehow, by the end of the show they are not dead and have solved a crime.
So why wasn't this one any good? The writers of the show forgot one important thing...to make it funny. It's less a terrible show and more a bland one that isn't sure if it should be funny or a drama. As a result, I can see exactly why it was never approved by any network.
