I'm familiar with the story behind the lake in Georgia and visited near the site in college. I say near because the residents who live nearby are very protective of the area. The premise behind this movie started off as what could have been a decent little mystery thriller. The first part of the movie we get a decent leading man investigating something-no spoiler-but then it just goes down hill. It's like we get all this build up and set up for like, literally nothing. Almost like one of those dumb M Night Shamalan with a silly premise and bad acting. I'll say this though, Shamalan movies suck and even as bad as this one turned out to be it's still better than anything he's ever made. Still, see it at your own risk because it's not very good. The mystery behind the lake was a huge missed opportunity for the film makers to capitalize on.
