Second week-end of 2011.

These are just a few images from the last few days, taken at Stithians, Gothian Sands, Marazion, and Penzance.

These Geese look all loved-up.

North Cornwall (just for a change)

We went to Porth Reservoir on Saturday for the Ring-necked Duck. This was the first male we've seen but it stayed too far away, even for digi-scoping, so this is just a record shot.
We also went to Walmsley Sanctuary and even there, everything kept it's distance. Nice to bump into Steve Rogers and his wife, and a big thanks to Steve for all his camera advice(Sue).

Helston and Stithians

Paid a visit this afternoon to Helston sewage works, hoping for a Firecrest but settled for the Wren and a Speckled Wood Butterfly. Over on the boating lake was a lone Gadwall and a pair of Mute Swans with only one Cygnet.

Called into Stithians Reservoir on the way home and managed a distant shot through the branches, of the Great-crested Grebes with their chick.
