TOP VAMPIRES
The whole gang, including Michael, Star and Laddie; "Holy shit! It's attack of Eddie Munster!" Which brings us to our next Vamp....
-GRANDPA MUNSTER-
ya gotta include GRANDPA MUNSTER!
ya gotta include GRANDPA MUNSTER!
I thought VIKTOR saved that movie and can't wait to see him in Underworld 3, armored up and slaying Werewolves. Underworld 2 was a letdown but man, MARCUS was pretty sick flying around.
I'm talking the BOOK version here. Personally, I had no problems with Tom Cruise's depiction in the movie. But nothing can beat the Lestat in the pages of those first 3 Anne Rice VampireChronicles.
* QUINN: "I'm gonna be naughty. I'm gonna be a naughty vampire god!"
* REAPERS: From Blade II. I loved their freaky mutant split-mouths!
* DANICA TALOS: I just love Parker Posey, is all. "And how about everyone here not saying the word "dick" anymore? It provokes my envy."
* PEARL: Who can forget the obese vampire record keeper Pearl?! "La Magra is coming! The Spirits of the Twelve will awaken the Blood God!"
From SESAME STREET! "Greetings! I am the Count. They call me the Count because I love to count things. 1 JimSmash Reader. 2 JimSmash Readers. 3 JIMSMASH READERS!! Ah-Ah-AH-AH!!!"
I must admit, I'm digging some of the vampires on HBO's new series "TRUE BLOOD" (although I'm not into the buck-tooth fangs). BILL is quickly becoming one of my favorites.... and MALCOLM quickly grew on me; "We're the new locals. And I. Am. Thirsty!"
As Amilyn from Buffy the Vampire Slayer (movie). Come on - its Pee Wee!
Visually, Coppolla's Dracula was fantastic! Dracula in the Crimson Armor in the beginning was awesome!
From 1979's "Love At First Bite". "Creatures of the Night.... Shut up!"
Its hard to get more creepy than this!
It's hard to get more creepy than Nosferatu, but Salem's Lot comes close!
The 1972 Blaxpoitation cult classic!
From "Horror of Dracula". Lee was able to break free from Lugosi's version and give us a more monsterous version of Dracula.
From Universal's classic 1931 "DRACULA". Lugosi cemented a look and approach that still defines the character Today. When people think "Dracula", most picture Lugosi's incarnation.

GOLD HEAD DESTRO
His action figure debut was a deluxe one in which he came with a hover sled.... um, called the "Despoiler". I was going to buy it at the time, but then realized I was in Junior High so I didn't. And yes, I've regretted it ever since.

HALLOWEEN MOVIES 2008
---
In my book, Halloween is actually a month-long holiday. So, every October, I watch a dozen-or-so Halloween inspired films to celebrate. They aren't always necessarily the BEST films and I never know which ones I'll watch until October arrives. So, this year's viewing will include:
* YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN: A yealy MUST! Absolutely brilliantly hilarious!
* HORROR OF DRACULA: Christopher Lee's debut as Count Dracula! Plus Peter "Grand Moff Tarkin" Cushing! Sweet.
* PUMPKINHEAD: This is another yearly must, for me. Plus, in addition to doing the creature effects its also directed by the recently departed Stan Winston. This year's viewing is for you, Stan. Thank you for everything!
* THE THING: One of the best sci-fi/thriller movies of all time. The kennel scene still freaks me out! If you haven't seen this yet, go rent it NOW. If you have seen it, you know what I'm talkin' about.
* THE MUPPETS: The spooky episode with host Vincent Price! Yeah!
* BLADE II: Why not? Vampires and those funky, freaky "vampire" abominations. A fun, comic book movie.
* DRACULA: The 1931 black-n-white classic starring Bela Lugosi as Count Dracula!!
* LOVE AT FIRST BITE: T-Rex hasn't seen this one yet, so I'm dusting this on off the shelf. 1970s George Hamilton as Dracula!
* HALLOWEEN: I usually watch Carpenter's original, but thought I'd mix it up a bit this year and try Rob Zombie's remake for shits-n-giggles. I watched the other day and it was a waste. My apologies to John Carpenter.
* ALIEN: It's scary and I haven't watched it in awhile (seriously).
* HELLRASIER II: The one and only Hellraiser you need to see. Fantastic!
* THE MUNSTERS: Gonna pick up the Complete 1st season. Great show!

PETER MAYHEW CHEWBACCA BUST
BITCHIN' DARK KNIGHT
"Frank Miller's classic cover has always been my favorite image of the caped crusader. I figured it was about time that I paid homage to it. I have always liked the old, hulking, beat up version that ignited my love with the character some 20 yrs back... The base mesh was created in 3DS max and then finished off in ZBrush. I used the default scanline render from max, and retouched it afterwards in photoshop. I hope you like it, I had a lot of fun making it."

LADY BLACK PANTHER
(and yet Spider-Girl gets cancelled. sigh)
Seriously, Marvel. Either get new ideas, or start hiring writers with imaginations. Did Liefeld become the new EIC when I wasn't looking? Because what started off as a joke - "Marvel's Babewatch" is quickly becoming a reality.
Speaking of jokes becoming realities.... here's my previous post pointing out how Marvel writers are taking old WHAT IF..? ideas and turning into reality. Funny enough, the "What If The Punisher Became Captain America" actually happened in Punisher War Journal AFTER my post was posted!
CAPTAIN EO, JUST FOR YOU
ILM special effects.... directed by Francis Ford Coppolla.... co-starring Anjelica Huston... puppets... 1980s Michael Jackson... and musical score by James "Aliens" Horner. Captain Eo, ladies and gentlemen:

JIMSMASH MEETS KING CONAN
Rounding the corner, I bumped into Arnold. Usually I'd play it cool and ignore. But this time, I found myself surprisingly making eye contact and smiling... and upon receiving a smile back, saying "King Conan, Man... KING CONAN!.." to which he laughed.
So if King Conan DOES ever get made with Arnold, its because of JimSmash.
