The interactions of cosmic rays with the solar atmosphere produce secondary particle which can reach the Earth. In this work we present a comprehensive calculation of the yields of secondary particles as gamma-rays, electrons, positrons, neutrons and neutrinos performed with the FLUKA code. [...]

This work is dedicated to the study of a technique for hadron identification in the TeV momentum range, based on the simultaneous measurement of the energies and of the emission angles of the Transition Radiation (TR) X-rays with respect to the radiating particles. A detector setup has been built and tested with particles in a wide range of Lorentz factors (from about $10^3$ to about $4 \times 10^4$ crossing different types of radiators. [...]

Production of secondary particles and nuclei in cosmic rays collisions with the interstellar gas using the FLUKA code
/ Mazziotta, M.N. (INFN, Bari) ; Cerutti, F. (CERN) ; Ferrari, A. (CERN) ; Gaggero, D. (SISSA, Trieste ; INFN, Trieste) ; Loparco, F. (INFN, Bari ; Bari Polytechnic) ; Sala, P.R. (INFN, Milan)
The measured fluxes of secondary particles produced by the interactions of Cosmic Rays (CRs) with the astronomical environment play a crucial role in understanding the physics of CR transport. In this work we present a comprehensive calculation of the secondary hadron, lepton, gamma-ray and neutrino yields produced by the inelastic interactions between several species of stable or long-lived cosmic rays projectiles (p, D, T, 3He, 4He, 6Li, 7Li, 9Be, 10Be, 10B, 11B, 12C, 13C, 14C, 14N, 15N, 16O, 17O, 18O, 20Ne, 24Mg and 28Si) and different target gas nuclei (p, 4He, 12C, 14N, 16O, 20Ne, 24Mg, 28Si and 40Ar). The EXTRA-BL4S experiment for the measurement of the energy and angular distributions of transition radiation X-rays
/ e EXTRA-BL4S Collaboration
We have designed and implemented an experiment to measure the angular distributions and the energy spectra of the transition radiation X-rays emitted by fast electrons and positrons crossing different radiators. Our experiment was selected among the proposals of the 2021 Beamline for Schools contest, a competition for high-school students organized every year by CERN and DESY, and was performed at the DESY II Test Beam facility area TB21, using a high-purity beam of electrons or positrons with momenta in the range from 1 to 6 GeV/c. Many modern and future accelerator and cosmic ray experiments require identification of particles with Lorentz γ-factor up to 104 and above. The only technique which reaches this range of Lorentz factors is based on the transition radiation detectors (TRD). [...]

In recent years, developments of gaseous detectors based on a combination of electron multiplication gap in the gas and pixel readout chips as a part of the anode plane (GasPixel detectors) reached a level where they can offer unique opportunities for particle detection. Transition radiation (TR) detectors based on this technology can be one of the possible applications. [...]

We discuss a recently proposed fit of the 15-year data set obtained from the North American Nanohertz Observatory for Gravitational Waves (NANOGrav) in terms of a relic stochastic background of primordial gravitons, produced in the context of the string cosmology pre-big bang scenario. [...]
