The LHCb (Large Hadron Collider beauty) experiment is designed to study differences between particles and anti-particles as well as very rare decays in the charm and beauty sector at the LHC (Large Hadron Collider). The detector will be upgraded in 2019 and a new trigger-less readout system will be implemented in order to significantly increase its efficiency and take advantage of the increased machine luminosity. Large-Scale DAQ Tests for the LHCb Upgrade / Manzali, Matteo (Ferrara U.) ; Falabella, Antonio (INFN, CNAF) ; Giacomini, Francesco (INFN, CNAF) ; Marconi, Umberto (INFN, Bologna) ; Neufeld, Niko (CERN) ; Valat, Sèbastien (CERN) ; Voneki, Balazs (CERN)
To increase the event yield, the LHCb experiment will undergo a major detector upgrade planned during the second long shutdown of the Large Hadron Collider (2019-2020). The new data acquisition has to process the whole 40-MHz input event rate, relying only on the large-scale computing farm implementation of the high-level trigger. [...]

Model-independent confirmation of the $Z(4430)^-$ state / LHCb collaboration
The decay $B^0\to \psi(2S) K^+\pi^-$ is analyzed using $\rm 3~fb^{-1}$ of $pp$ collision data collected with the LHCb detector. A model-independent description of the $\psi(2S) \pi$ mass spectrum is obtained, using as input the $K\pi$ mass spectrum and angular distribution derived directly from data, without requiring a theoretical description of resonance shapes or their interference. Study of $\Upsilon$ production and cold nuclear matter effects in pPb collisions at $\sqrt{s_{NN}}=5~\mathrm{TeV}$ / LHCb collaboration
Production of $\Upsilon$ mesons in proton-lead collisions at a nucleon-nucleon centre-of-mass energy $\sqrt{s_{NN}}=5 \mathrm{TeV}$ is studied with the LHCb detector. The analysis is based on a data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of $1.6 \mathrm{nb}^{-1}$. [...]

Observation of the $B^{0}_{s}\rightarrow J/\psi K_{{\rm S}}^{0} K^{\pm} \pi^{\mp}$ decay / LHCb collaboration
Decays of the form $B^{0}_{(s)}\rightarrow J/\psi K_{{\rm S}}^{0} h^+ h^{\left(\prime\right) -}$ ($h^{(\prime)} = K, \pi$) are searched for in proton-proton collision data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of $1.0 \, {\rm fb}^{-1}$ recorded with the LHCb detector. The first observation of the $B^{0}_{s}\rightarrow J/\psi K_{{\rm S}}^{0} K^{\pm} \pi^{\mp}$ decay is reported, with significance in excess of 10 standard deviations. [...]

Measurement of the $\Xi_b^-$ and $\Omega_b^-$ baryon lifetimes / LHCb collaboration
Using a data sample of pp collisions corresponding to an integrated luminosity of $3~ \rm fb^{-1}$, the $\Xi_b^-$ and $\Omega_b^-$ baryons are reconstructed in the $\Xi_b^- \rightarrow J/\psi \Xi^-$ and $\Omega_b^- \rightarrow J/\psi \Omega^-$ decay modes and their lifetimes measured to be $\tau (\Xi_b^-) = 1.55\, ^{+0.10}_{-0.09}~{\rm(stat)} \pm 0.03\,{\rm(syst)}$ ps, $\tau (\Omega_b^-) = 1.54\, ^{+0.26}_{-0.21}~{\rm(stat)} \pm 0.05\,{\rm(syst)}$ ps. Measurement of the resonant and CP components in $\overline{B}^0\rightarrow J/\psi \pi^+\pi^-$ decays / LHCb Collaboration
The resonant structure of the reaction $\overline{B}^0\rightarrow J/\psi \pi^+\pi^-$ is studied using data from 3 fb$^{-1}$ of integrated luminosity collected by the LHCb experiment, one-third at 7 Tev center-of-mass energy and the remainder at 8 Tev. The invariant mass of the $\pi^+\pi^-$ pair and three decay angular distributions are used to determine the fractions of the resonant and non-resonant components. [...]

Observation of the resonant character of the $Z(4430)^-$ state / LHCb collaboration
Resonant structures in $B^0\to\psi'\pi^-K^+$ decays are analyzed by performing a four-dimensional fit of the decay amplitude, using $pp$ collision data corresponding to $\rm 3 fb^{-1}$ collected with the LHCb detector. The data cannot be described with $K^+\pi^-$ resonances alone, which is confirmed with a model-independent approach. [...]
