Quantum sensing for particle physics / Bass, Steven D. (Jagiellonian U.) ; Doser, Michael (CERN)
Quantum sensing is a rapidly growing approach to probe fundamental physics and explore new phase space for possible new physics with precision and highly sensitive measurements in our quest to understand the deep structure of matter and its interactions. This field uses properties of quantum mechanics in the detectors to go beyond traditional measurement techniques. [...]

Searching for a dark matter particle with anti-protonic atoms / Doser, Michael (CERN) ; Farrar, Glennys (New York U., CCPP) ; Kornakov, Georgy (Warsaw U. of Tech.)
A wide range of dark matter candidates have been proposed and are actively being searched for in a large number of experiments, both at high (TeV) and low (sub meV) energies. One dark matter candidate, a deeply bound $uuddss$ sexaquark, $S$, with mass $\sim 2$ GeV (having the same quark content as the hypothesized H-dibaryon, but long lived) is particularly difficult to explore experimentally. [...]

We summarize the discussions at a virtual Community Workshop on Cold Atoms in Space concerning the status of cold atom technologies, the prospective scientific and societal opportunities offered by their deployment in space, and the developments needed before cold atoms could be operated in space. The cold atom technologies discussed include atomic clocks, quantum gravimeters and accelerometers, and atom interferometers. [...]

Low-Energy Negative Ion Injection Beamline for Experiments with Antiprotonic Atoms at AEgIS / Rodin, Volodymyr (U. Liverpool (main) ; Cockcroft Inst. Accel. Sci. Tech.) ; Cerchiari, Giovanni (Innsbruck U.) ; Doser, Michael (CERN) ; Farricker, Aaron (U. Liverpool (main)) ; Khatri, Ghanshyambhai (CERN) ; Kornakov, Georgy (Warsaw U. of Tech. Interaction of low-energy antiprotons with nuclear targets provided fundamental knowledge about proton and neutron densities of many nuclei through the capture process, cascade on lower electron orbits, and annihilation with the nucleon. The expelled electrons produce X-rays and with the recoil particles after annihilation, thus, a sufficient amount of information can be obtained about this interaction. [...]

Quantum detectors for (low and high energy) particle physics / Doser, Michael (speaker) (CERN)
After a short introduction into the involvement of different existing families of detectors relying on quantum effects and relevant to the field of (mostly low energy) particle physics, a small number of possible ideas for applications in the context of high energy particle physics (calorimetry, particle ID, tracking) will be presented and discussed. A particular emphasis will be placed on the R&D required to transform these more speculative ideas into proof-of-principle prototype devices..

Monte-Carlo simulation of positronium laser excitation and anti-hydrogen formation via charge exchange / AEgIS Collaboration
The AEgIS experiment aims at producing antihydrogen (and eventually measuring the effects of the Earth gravitational field on it) with a method based on the charge exchange reaction between antiproton and Rydberg positronium. To be precise, antiprotons are delivered by the CERN Antiproton Decelerator (AD) and are trapped in a multi-ring Penning trap, while positronium is produced by a nanoporous silica target and is excited to Rydberg states by means of a two steps laser excitation. [...]
