Heavy Quark Energy Loss and Angular Distribution of the Radiation in the Moller Theory / Blok, Boris (speaker) (Physics Department)
We calculate the energy loss and angular radiation distribution for heavy quark propagating through the quark-gluon plasma at the LHC in the framework of the QCD extended Moller theory i.e. BDMPS formalism plus large Coulomb logarithms. [...]

Collectivity in pp from resummed interference effects? / Blok, Boris (Technion) ; Wiedemann, Urs Achim (CERN)
Azimuthal asymmetries $v_n$ in the soft transverse momentum spectra of hadronic collisions can result as a consequence of quantum interference and color flow which translates spatial anisotropies into momentum anisotropies via multipole radiation patterns. Here, we analyze to what extent these effects result in signal strengths $v_n\lbrace 2s\rbrace$ that can persist in higher order $(2s)$ cumulants. [...]

Collectivity from interference / Blok, Boris (Technion) ; Jäkel, Christian D. (Sao Paulo U., Sao Carlos) ; Strikman, Mark (Penn State U.) ; Wiedemann, Urs Achim (CERN)
In hadronic collisions, interference between different production channels affects momentum distributions of multi-particle final states. As this QCD interference does not depend on the strong coupling constant, it is part of the no-interaction baseline that needs to be controlled prior to searching for other manifestations of collective dynamics. [...]

Hard four-jet production in pA collisions / Blok, Boris (Technion) ; Strikman, Mark (Penn State U.) ; Wiedemann, Urs Achim (CERN)
In a suitably chosen back-to-back kinematics, four-jet production in hadronic collisions is known to be dominated by contributions from two independent partonic scattering processes, thus giving experimental access to the structure of generalized two-parton distributions 2GPDs. Here, we show that a combined measurement of the double hard four-jet cross section in proton-proton and proton-nucleus collisions will allow one to disentangle different sources of two-parton correlations in the proton, that cannot be disentangled with 4-jet measurements in proton-proton collisions alone. [...]

The baffling semileptonic branching ratio of B mesons / Bigi, Ikaros I.Y. (CERN ; Notre Dame U.) ; Blok, Boris (Technion) ; Shifman, Mikhail A. (Minnesota U.) ; Vainshtein, Arkady I. (Minnesota U.)
The apparent gap between the measured and the expected value for the semileptonic branching ratio of B mesons has become more serious of r the last year. This is due to the improved quality of the data and to the increasing maturity of the theoretical treatment of nonperturbative corrections. [...]

On the determination of |V$_{ub}$| from inclusive semileptonic decay spectra / Blok, Boris (Technion) ; Mannel, Thomas (CERN)
We propose a model independent method to determine |V_{ub}| from the energy spectrum of the charged lepton in inclusive semileptonic B decays. The method includes perturbative QCD corrections as well as nonperturbative ones..
