Halloween - Origins and History

While waiting for my number to be called inside the bank yesterday, I asked Peter about the origins of Halloween, like how come Christians are so against it (I was baptized a born again Christian when I was in College, but I'm not active anymore. I do believe in God though, that higher power that transcends all and that which I cannot explain), and how come I am enjoying it so much whether I spend it alone or with the company of other like-minded individuals.

Anyway, what Peter said made such an impact, to me, as a baby Wiccan, at least. From what I remember, here are the things he said:

Time for Halloween - 6 of Cups

Gosh, it's been so long since I last posted here. Offline, I've been quite regular with my tarot readings, meditations as well as dream interpretations though and I think that's more important. I've also started getting more serious with Feng Shui and I'll be sharing some of my thoughts about it here soon. The rest of my time has been spent doing productive stuff at work and lately, preparing for Halloween, my favorite time of the year! In fact, not only have I been reminiscing past Halloween celebrations through my facebook page, but my hubby and I have also been decorating the house, not just for a small party we're having this weekend, but mostly because we want to feel and enjoy the season even when we're just at home, just the two of us, most of the time.

The most recent daily tarot card I drew, 6 OF CUPS agree with my sentiments.

Happy Halloween 2010

Despite the fact that I had so much work to do last weekend (I got 30 hours of backlog work to finish, plus house chores and errands), I still managed to celebrate my favorite time of the year --- Halloween! Good thing that the house was all ready for some freaky action.

Funky Halloween Bowl

I never thought I could ever have fun bowling again (except on Wii) until I experienced a different kind of bowling last weekend --- the Funky Bowling way at SM Mall of Asia also available in all SM Bowling Centers.

I'm still trying to fix my Halloween schedule. I'm not really geared towards hosting another Halloween party like we did for the past seven years of our marriage, so if we're not doing anything else, we might do some Halloween party hopping around the metro and drop by one of the four SM Bowling Centers' Funky Halloween Bowl. This will happen from Oct.30 to November 2 at SM City Cebu, SM City Fairview, SM Mall of Asia and SM North Edsa. These four branches boast of the country's most luxurious and contemporary bowling centers today. And with the upcoming Funky Halloween Bowl, all bowlers will surely experience extreme fun and excitement!

Excited for Halloween: Bought Dark Angel Wings and Friday the 13th Mask

I was at National Bookstore last weekend with my hubby. I was just supposed to look at some books coz I was feeling a bit sad. Maybe I was burnt out from work and I was experiencing some personal issues again. It's a good thing that Peter is always around whenever I need him. And that particular moment, without having any agenda, I just wanted to drop by National Bookstore.

Then lo and behold, after entering the store, Halloween decors and costumes greeted me as if knowing my plight. You see, for some weird reason, Halloween makes me happy... more happy than Christmas or summer actually. Maybe I was just emotional that day, but I got teary eyed with glee the moment I saw those freaky little masks and witchy fabulous costumes.

I immediately trotted to the display area and scrutinized everything. Peter was looking at some masks too and I was trying on some Elvira dresses and hats. Peter wanted to buy the bloody baby dolls. I told him to get one if he really wanted to. As for me, I ended up buying a pair of dark angel's wings instead that comes with a mask while Peter got a mask of Jason from Friday the 13th.

They're now safely kept with the rest of our Halloween decors and ornaments. I can't wait for Halloween season to be here!

Tarot Card Reading For Halloween

During the Halloween, I did a couple of tarot card readings for some of my family and friends. But before all that, I did one for myself and I was pretty happy with the outcome. And did I mention that I read it on a full moon?

Here's the layout of the cards:
