Shake your thang!

There's a new monthly themed challenge starting today over at SugarPea Designs and this time the theme is Shake That Thing - yep, we want to see those shaker cards!  Yep, they're very trendy at the moment and so much fun to make that I hope you will join us!  Here is my DT make...

I really enjoyed making this card!  It can be used for any soppy occasion like engagements and weddings, but I think I will use it for an anniversary card.

I first die cut a fishtail strip of cardstock and then lined up the heart strip die from the SugarCuts Heart Journal Card die set.  I then glued a piece of acetate to the back and then used foam strips around each heart.  I filled each heart with Amercian Crafts glitter along with various sized smaller hearts from the SugarCuts Heart Journal Card die set.  I then glued a piece of silver mirri cardstock behind the hearts.  The hearts surrounding this are from the SugarCuts Notched Heart Journal Card die which I stuck on with foam pads to give some more depth.  Lastly, I die cut the arrows from the SugarCuts SugarCuts Heart Journal Card die set with some more silver mirri cardstock and stuck these on with some more foam pads.

Here's a closer look at the shaker hearts...

Remember that you don't need to use SugarPea Designs goodies for this challenge but if you the prize will be bigger - instead of $10, the Gift Certificate will be $15!

Visit the SugarPea Designs blog to get more shakey inspiration.  I'll be back tomorrow with my Docrafts DT post so see you then!

Day 4 of sneak peeks of the SugarPea Designs January release!

So we're continuing with our sneak peeks of the SugarPea Designs January release and today we are showcasing a very sweet set called Foxy Friend.  I love this set!  This is what I did with the set...

Is he so adorable!  I wanted to create another shaker card and used Digital Design Essential papers, lots of Doodlebug sequins and topped off with a simple heart from the SugarCuts Heart Journal Die set.

The January Product Release will be available for purchase in the SugarPea Designs Store on Friday, January 9th at 6:00 PM EST!

I know you would love to win this set!  If do, just join the blog hop and visit each of SugarPea Designers listed below.  We will chose one lucky person to WIN this stamp set from the comments left here and on the DT Blogs!  All winners during our January Product Release will be announced on Sunday, January 11th.

Okay, only one more day left for the SugarPea Designs sneak peeks - see you tomorrow to show you the last but very sweet, adorable set!

Ice skating princess!

(Please scroll down for my La-La Land Crafts DT post!)

It's new release week over at Alicia Bel and there are three new super cute digis to choose from!  Here is my DT make using the sweet little Ice Skating Princess...

I couldn't resist making another shaker card - they are so fun to make!  I used some K and Company papers, a Lawn Fawn Forest Border die and lots of Doodlebug sequins for lots and lots of sparkle!  I'm going to give this card to one of my best friends for her birthday which is in the Winter - she's going to love this!

Check out the rest of the design team's sweet makes over at the blog here!

Snowflakes - no thanks!

The theme over at La-La Land Crafts blog this week is Snowflakes!  As pretty as they are, I'm not looking forward to any sprinkling of them any time soon - they're not nice when they start to melt and turn into ice!  Hopefully, we will have a couple of months to go before we see them here in the South East of England.  But anyhoo, here is my DT take on it...

Here's a list of the La-La Land Crafts goodies I used:

Copics used:
Face: E000, E00, E21, R02, R05
Hair: E31, E33, E35, E37
Outfit: BV01, BV02, BV04, BV08, E31, E33, E35

Isn't she beautiful?  I love her garland of snowflakes which I heavily sprinkled with Glamour Dust.  As you can see, I also created a shaker window.  I embossed the stitched circle around the window for interest and used Doodlebug sequins.

Here's tip - when creating a shaker card, glue several sequins in place before adding the rest of the sequins loose to ensure that some stay up in the window rather than all dropping down to the bottom.  I hope that makes sense!

Check out the rest of the DT snowflakey creations over at the blog here!  I will be back later with my Alicia Bel DT post - see you then!

A new SugarPea Designs monthly challenge!

(Please scroll down for my Lili of the Valley DT post and
deets on winning prizes!)

It's time for a new monthly themed challenge over at SugarPea Designs and the theme is Winter Wishes.  I decided to create a shaker card as they seem to be all the rage at the moment so here my DT make for it...

Isn't he adorable?  And I love that lickle ickle fishy too!  I also used the sweet snowflake stamp to create the background.  The set is called Have An ICE Day and the sequins are by Doodlebug and I used my Lawn Fawn hillside border die again.

You don't have to use a SPD stamp set but you'll win a $15 gift voucher instead of $10.  Check out the deets and the rest of the gorgeous Wintery designs over at the blog here.

I'll be back on Friday with my Alicia Bel and La-La Land Crafts DT posts - see you then!
