“Second owner of this and it’s been in my possession for 25 years. It’s in fair-to-good condition cosmetically. It plays very well and all of the buttons and sliders work. It has servicing needs:
1.Pitch bend is tight and needs adjusting
2.Chorus chip is noisy and probably needs to be replaced.
It’s playable. Oscillators are in tune, arpeggiator works, buttons and sliders work nicely.

“This is a Roland SH-5 monophonic synthesizer. It is in good cosmetic condition. All controls are clearly labeled. There are scratches on the front of the panel. I inspected and cleaned all the key contacts. There was a bad solider joint in the noise generator. The position detent on the VCF band pass slider switch is not working. “For sale is a vintage Roland D50 synth for parts only. My assumption is that the power supply has gone bad, but I am not 100% sure. A few red lights illuminate when the unit powers on, so there is juice going somewhere, but not to the LCD screen or main board of the synth. Cosmetic condition is quite good for it’s age. “This rare Roland SH – 1000 synthesizer is in good working order and decent cosmetic condition. No broken keys or buttons no missing tabs. Everything on this synthesizer works every key works and all the functions work. It has not been restored or calibrated, but it has been completely tested, and it is very playable for a vintage analog synthesizer it stays in tune and has good tuning and intonation. The filter sounds fantastic. Please look at the photographs closely. There are some cosmetic issues with this very old instrument. “This JD800 does NOT have the dreaded keyboard glue issue (it was fixed many years ago before it became a problem) – however please read for known issues and restoration work.
Hate to part with this as its been a labor of love for several years.
I picked it up from a church in Manila, The Philippines (if you can believe it!) while travelling. Plastic end caps look pretty beat but the metalic face is in good shape. End caps could be replaced to make it look as beautiful as it should be.
Most buttons and sliders did not work so I ordered and replaced w/ new old stock roland parts….soldered them all in one at a time and cleaned the insides. Sliders and buttons are now smooth and easy like new. Modified the PSU for 110V.
Keyboard was 100% functional until a drop a few years ago cracked the right plastic end cap and unseated the ribbon that connects the keyboard (notoriously a PITA to seat correctly). I was able to get it to reseat but lost functionality of the top right 5 keys (see pic). Keyboard occaisonally “freaks out” and starts triggering randomly once every few weeks and requires a power cycle. The above are annoying but not worth taking it apart and trying to re-seat the ribbon IMHO, so I’ve dealt with it.
So we have a JD800 with no glue issues and 90% new sliders and buttons that sounds absolutely fantastic…but has some livable issues. If you are technical and can source parts you could replace the end caps and re-seat the ribbon, or you could take the guts out of this unit and place into a cosmetic perfect unit that had the glue issue and you’d be set.” Click here to visit listing on eBay

Recently serviced and the Red Glue issue has been resolved with new key bed and key contact board fitted. Key weights have been secured with new epoxy (as shown in picture). Key action is as it should be as well as the after-touch.
After-touch modification has been fitted, enabling it to be more sensitive and not needing to press the keys so hard to get the after-touch to engage.
All the sliders and controls have been cleaned and thoroughly tested and working as it should. New internal battery has been installed and has been reset to factory settings.

“Most functions can be achieved, though some require creative button and knob use. Something is off with the wiring, so this is being sold for parts or not working. I’m the second owner and bought it after some knobs and buttons had been replaced and changed out, and the AC cord and power button replaced. Sound output is good and the brain seems to be good.
As shown in photos, not all buttons or screws are original. Features tested and seem to be working properly include: Tempo, Intro/Fill In, Auto fill in Measures, Accent, Volume, Auto Fill in Manual, Shuffle, Crash, Start/Stop, and Power On/Off.
