Use the iOS or iPadOS keyboard to enter text on Apple TV
If you prefer not to enter text using the Siri Remote, you can set up a nearby iOS or iPadOS device to share its keyboard whenever a text field appears on Apple TV.
The iOS or iPadOS device must meet certain minimum requirements. See the Apple Support article System requirements for Continuity on Mac, iPhone, iPad, iPod touch and Apple Watch.
Set up an iPhone, iPad or iPod touch to enter text on Apple TV
Make sure the iOS or iPadOS device and Apple TV are both signed in using the same Apple ID and that Bluetooth® and Wi-Fi are enabled on the iOS or iPadOS device.
Use an iOS or iPadOS keyboard to type on Apple TV
Whenever a text field appears on Apple TV, a notification appears on your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch.
Tap the notification and enter text in the iOS or iPadOS keyboard that appears.
Text you enter on the iOS or iPadOS device automatically appears in the text field on Apple TV.
Turn off the Apple TV keyboard on iOS or iPadOS
If you don’t want your iOS or iPadOS device to be used as a keyboard for Apple TV, turn off keyboard notifications on your iOS or iPadOS device.
On your iOS or iPadOS device, go to Settings > Notifications > Apple TV Keyboard and turn off Allow Notifications.
