Assassin's Creed Origins is a single-player action-adventure video game developed by Ubisoft Montreal and published by Ubisoft for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Microsoft Windows. It is the tenth major installment in the Assassin's Creed franchise.

Origins is the beginning of a new trilogy which consists of itself, Assassin's Creed Odyssey, and Assassin's Creed Valhalla. The game takes place in Ptolemaic Egypt starting in the year 49BC, focusing on the story of warrior Bayek of Siwa and his wife Aya. Interspersed throughout the story are present-day sections where the player takes control of Layla Hassan, a researcher for the Abstergo corporation.

Maintaining the franchise's open world location, parkour, and stealth gameplay, Origins adds RPG mechanics which incorporate levels, enemies scaled to the player, skill trees, and experience points. Naval combat returns from previous installments.

The game has several DLC quest and equipment packages, as well as two major story expansions taking place after the events of the game. The Hidden Ones and Curse of the Pharoah both released in 2018.
