Inorganic Analysis

Every Primesep reverse phase column has strong ion-exchange properties. These properties can be used for separation of inorganic ions by traditional ion-exchange mechanism. The advantage of the Primesep approach is the ability to do ion-exchange at any concentration of organic modifier in the mobile phase. Most other ion-exchange columns have polymer based support and tend to swell in a high organic mobile phase. Having a high organic concentration in the mobile phase makes direct injection of samples with organic and inorganic materials at the same time possible, such as drugs in drug formulations. It is also possible to analyze both organic and inorganic components of the sample because every Primesep column is in fact a reverse phase column. This ability to analyze both organic and inorganic molecules at the same time allows you to save time and simplify analytical procedures. Many inorganic ions are non-UV active. For such analytes the evaporative light scattering detector (ELSD) is a convenient way to quantitate their concentration in complex samples. Such anions as Br , I , NO 3 are UV active and can be detected by UV low wavelength.
