Dear 2024, like so many folks out there, we are happy to see you go. This year had a lot of ups and downs for us, so we wanted to take a few minutes at the beginning of the year to highlight a few milestones, share our convention schedule for the year, and mention a few goals for the new year.

2024 Highlights

1. Our own home – easily the biggest milestone this year, after working towards this goal for many years, is that we were able to purchase a home. This would not have been possible without a tremendous amount of help from family, friends, and of course, our clients who trust us to bring their project to life!
2. Our new workshop – while the impetus for needing to build a whole new workshop from scratch fall under the bad list, having a workshop we designed and built from scratch is a such a great feeling! We are about 85% complete with our build out, but its functional and we’re finally done trying to play catch up on projects while also doing construction so thats definitely a win! Within the next few months we’ll be 100% done and caught up enough that we can start working on more of our own personal projects again!
3. The Tomb Raider Experience – our biggest business achievement this year was being brought in to help on the build out of the Tomb Raider Experience Seattle! We did set, prop, and even some sewing work over a majority of the year and got to help bring an amazing new attraction to Seattle alonside some really talented folks. We look forward to sharing more details about this project soon in a separate post! This was also a huge learning experience for us which we love as learning and growing our skills is always one of our top goals!
4. Stout Oak Adventuring Guild – Following up on the heels of the Tomb Raider Experience, we also got to the opportunity to do some set, prop, and costum work for Surelock Escapes latest escape room, the Stout Oak Adventuring Guild.

2025 Goals

1. Finish our workshop – this one is pretty self explanatory!
2. Do more personal projects – because our personal projects and builds always come last in priority, we have decided to make 2025 the year that we actually build into our schedule, time for us to do our own builds. At the bare minimum, our goal is to have a two new costumes for each of us each year with target dates of Emerald City Comic Con and Rose City Comic Con for debuting those builds as those tend to be our big bookend conventions each year (see our schedule below).
3. Branch out – after working on two escape rooms this year, we are looking to continue to branch out in that direction as escape rooms are such great fun to work on and utilize the full range of our skills.
4. Continue to learn – our number one goal every year is to constantly push ourselves out of our comfort zone and learn new things. We don’t know what new skills are on the horizon for us yet this year, but we look forward to whatever new challenges we face and the new skills we’ll learn to tackle them!
5. Collaboration – we would love to do more collaborations with other makers! If you’d like to team up with us on a project, please reach out!

2025 Schedule

Our upcoming con schedule is always available and always being updated on our Conventions & Appearances page, but here is the current highlight summary for 2025!

Fan Expo Portland – January 24-26, 2025

• We are trying something new for this convention! We are teaming up with The Super Happy Action Response Team and Scum and Villainy Acquisitions to bring a Star Wars experience to the convention! We’ll have a 20×20 space – booth number 263 – with a market and photo ops – come with your Star Wars costume and hang out “in world” with us! Final details coming soon!

Emerald City Comic Con – March 6-9, 2025

• We won’t be vending at ECCC this year, but we will be attending all weekend with a couple of new costumes to be revealed!

Sakura Con – April 18-20, 2025

• As always, we will be running the Mecha Modeling Room and Mecha Building Contest – more details available here. If you’re interested in volunteering for our room or want more details, reach out to us as we have several volunteer staff spots still available!

Washington State Summer Con – June 20-22, 2025

• We are planning to either have our own booth, or have a repeat of our Fan Expo setup depending on how that all goes in January!

GeekFest West Game Expo – July 18-20, 2025

• We are hoping to have a booth again this year, currently waiting on approval and more details!

Seattle World Con – August 13-17, 2025

• We are hoping to have a booth this year, currently waiting on approval and more details!

Rose City Comic Con – September 6-8, 2025

• We will definitely be there with our booth this year – Booth details coming soon!

Grit City Comic Show – November 15, 2025

• We will be there with our booth this year – Booth number TBD!
