User talk:RaNdOm26~simplewiki
Welcome to the Simple English Wikipedia
[change source]Hello, RaNdOm26~simplewiki, and welcome to the Simple English Wikipedia! I hope you are happy editing here and being a Wikipedian. Some helpful pages to start you off are Wikipedia:Useful, Help:Contents and Wikipedia:Policies and guidelines.
If you want to meet and talk with other members, you can visit our version of the "village pump" at Wikipedia:Simple talk. Just remember that you should sign your messages on Talk pages by typing "~~~~" (four tildes) at the end of your words.
We have a special page that describes how to write Simple English articles. If you want some ideas of which pages to work on, read Wikipedia:Requested articles or the list of wanted pages.
We are also focusing on core articles until this Wikipedia grows. This list of topics will help show the types of topics we want most.
Even though it is a good idea to research an article (like looking at the discussion page) before making large changes, do not be afraid to be bold! Any changes you make that are not perfect can be fixed later.
If you need any help, send a message to an administrator on his or her talk page. Administrators on Wikipedia will try to help you with your problems and resolve them as soon as possible.
You might even want to join Esperanza if you want to help the wiki to become a community.
Finally, if you have any questions on how things work, don't hesitate to ask me. The best way to do that is to leave a message on my talk page. Good luck and happy editing!--TBCΦtalk? 11:54, 3 October 2006 (UTC)
Featured articles
[change source]Simple Wikipedia doesn't have a featured or a good article process yet, though we do have peer reviews.--TBCΦtalk? 19:42, 4 October 2006 (UTC)
- Category:Very good articles exists, but unlike Wikipedia's Featured Articles, on Simple English articles don't require discussion or voting to reach the "Very good article" status.--TBCΦtalk? 07:29, 9 October 2006 (UTC)

Personal attacks.
[change source]Please do not make personal attacks against other users. Especially do not bicker on my talk page with Chacor or any other user. This is against policy as well as the spirit of the project, so please consider this warning in the future. Blockinblox 16:23, 12 October 2006 (UTC)
Don't be unsettled. There are all kinds of ways to be useful to this project that don't involve saying that you hate other users. More subtle is the thing to be, if you do have any disagreement with them, and stick to the facts of the subject without insulting them personally, or else it looks bad on you. Blockinblox 16:52, 12 October 2006 (UTC)
Warning
[change source]Here is the warning about what I mentioned before, and I know you're aware of it. Please make sure that all of your edits here go directly towards productive content improvement, rather than games. -- Netoholic @ 05:44, 25 October 2006 (UTC)
Simplification
[change source]I added the 'unsimple' tag to Cyclone Steve because although some of it was simplified from the english wikipedia, much of the structure and vocabulary remained the same. When I come across an article that appears to have been mostly copied from the english wikipedia, I usually add the 'unsimple' tag.
There are some general guidelines in Wikipedia:how to write Simple English articles. Simple english articles are usually much shorter than their corresponding english articles; a big "wall of text" is daunting for somebody new to or unfamiliar with the language. Not only does vocabulary need to be changed, but sentence structure is also important. Shorter sentences are usually better.
For example, I might change the first sentence in the article to: "Tropical Cyclone Steve was a big storm that happened in north Australia. It lasted from 27 February 2000 to 11 March 2000."
Hope this helps. --Ghewgill 11:00, 25 October 2006 (UTC)
Not Happy?
[change source]Dear RaNdOm26, do not fret. Since many of us oppose it, it is to be kept. Relax. You seem quite worked up on this issue. It's all fine, okay? :)-- Tdxiang @ 02:40, 31 October 2006 (UTC)
Very Good Articles
[change source]Hello there. See CAT:VGA for very good articles. To add them into the category, please type
[[:Category:Very good articles|{{PAGENAME}}]]
in its talk page. Thank you!-- Tdxiang 09:59, 15 November 2006 (UTC)
Netoholic
[change source]Per a steward ruling after some disputed actions by Netoholic, he was desysopped, even after this vote was taken. I hope I have answered you questions. And... YES! I'm Chinese and an administrator now. If you need help, tell me, but not for long, for I will be going on a holiday soon. See you!-- Tdxiang 09:51, 1 December 2006 (UTC)
Popups
[change source]create a page called monobook.js (In your case User:RaNdOm26/monobook.js). Then just copy the content from my monobook (User:The life of brian/monobook.js) and voila you have popups. Every time you hover your mouse over an internal link a small window will pop up and show the first few lines. They also have some other nice features. regards. The life of brian 19:56, 5 December 2006 (UTC) Please see your monobook page and follow the instructions, to delete the cache. The life of brian 14:06, 6 December 2006 (UTC)
- Don't worry, solved it. RaNdOm26 14:16, 6 December 2006 (UTC)
SYSOP
[change source]Currently I am runing to become a sysop. The main reason why I want to become one is to better help in the war against vandalism, I believe in tougher blocks against vandals and after the 2 time they vandaliz an article I will impose a ban on them. I have a lot of free time so I will be a active sysop. At one point I had a average of 50 edits a day, now I have a average of 30 because I was busy and not able to edit. If you have any questions ask me on my talk page please. to vote go to Wikipedia:Administrators. Have a nice week and god bless.--Sir James Paul 21:05, 5 December 2006 (UTC)
- God bless. RaNdOm26 14:16, 6 December 2006 (UTC)
Popups
[change source]I'm not sure. I personally never had such a problem. See my monobook and scroll to the bottom to check. The code is alright for you, though.-- Tdxiang 09:53, 8 December 2006 (UTC)
Your "hello" in your userpage...
[change source]No offense, but about that "hello" in your userpage. With that "hello" written like "HELLO!!!!!!!!," you seem to be yelling that word. Maybe you could write it like "Hello!" Panda Bear 20:48, 2 June 2007 (UTC)"
- I don't care. If you really don't like it, you could always tell me, and I'll change to something else. RaNdOm26 10:44, 24 June 2007 (UTC)
Could you kindly look at the article if it is still not easy enough now. --Cethegus 11:04, 29 June 2007 (UTC)

reply
[change source]Hello. I copied the cover from english wikipedia and uploaded it to commons, as I guess you have assumed. Thanks for telling me. :) I'm not really active over there, so I don't know the policies and guidelines. --Isis§(talk) 20:19, 24 July 2007 (UTC)
Sure! :)
[change source]Please, don't mention it, dear Random, happy to help a little - and of course, I'll have a look at the article itself as soon as I possibly can, and try and give you a hand with the copyediting. Hope you're having a beautiful weekend :) Love, Phaedriel - 07:36, 12 August 2007 (UTC)
Wiktionary and stuff :)
[change source]You have a very valid point, dear Random :) However, the redirects to Wiktionary are deliberate, simply because Simple Wiktionary still has too few entries, and the meanings for the words I linked to have not been created there yet. You see, whenever I link to Wiktionary, it's because creating an entry here would not be appropriate, snce it World be a mere dicdef; and when I see Simple Wiktionary doesn't have the Word I'm searching for, then the only way for a reader to learn the meaning that we have is... Wiktionary :) Someday, we should all go to Simple Wiktionary and add hundreds of Simple meanings... By the way, congratulations on your fantastic VG article! I was very happy to lend my modest help with a few red links. And thank you so much for your kind words for Geisha - coming from a great editor like you, it's a wonderful compliment to me :) Have a beautiful day! Love, Phaedriel - 14:49, 20 August 2007 (UTC)

WikiProject
[change source]Hello, I noticed you can understand some Japanese & Chinese so I was wondering if you might know some things about Chinese & Japanese music, whether popular or classical. If so, would you like to join my Simple WikiProject Asian Music? Even small contributions are much appreciated. Thanks. Alexhl (talk) 11:46, 9 March 2008 (UTC)
Kournikova Grand Slam record
[change source]I hope that I've now made the table clearer - take a look and see what you think! The Rambling Man (talk) 10:17, 9 July 2008 (UTC)
- Done Colo(u)rs done! I like it too. I think I'll roll that back into Hantuchova and Ivanovic when I get a chance. How do you like the article now? The Rambling Man (talk) 10:42, 9 July 2008 (UTC)
- Cool, well if you neeed a hand with Nadal, give me a shout. I try to use the same structure for each tennis player (so I'd base Nadal on Hantuchova or Kournikova since they're the most expanded ones) and head over to en-wiki for the main points of the article. I've found references on the en-wiki to be severely lacking so I've had to go and search my own out - probably start with the ATP page for some basics. The Rambling Man (talk) 11:49, 9 July 2008 (UTC)
I'd like to invite you to join the newly-formed Rock music WikiProject. There's alot of Rock-related articles on Wikipedia that could use a little attention, and I hope this project can help organize an effort to improve them. So please, take a look and if you like what you see, help us get this project off the ground and a few Rock music pages into the front ranks of Wikipedia articles. Thanks! --Fell on Black Days (talk) 20:02, 23 September 2008 (UTC)
Your account will be renamed
[change source]Hello,
The developer team at Wikimedia is making some changes to how accounts work, as part of our on-going efforts to provide new and better tools for our users like cross-wiki notifications. These changes will mean you have the same account name everywhere. This will let us give you new features that will help you edit and discuss better, and allow more flexible user permissions for tools. One of the side-effects of this is that user accounts will now have to be unique across all 900 Wikimedia wikis. See the announcement for more information.
Unfortunately, your account clashes with another account also called RaNdOm26. To make sure that both of you can use all Wikimedia projects in future, we have reserved the name RaNdOm26~simplewiki that only you will have. If you like it, you don't have to do anything. If you do not like it, you can pick out a different name. If you think you might own all of the accounts with this name and this message is in error, please visit Special:MergeAccount to check and attach all of your accounts to prevent them from being renamed.
Your account will still work as before, and you will be credited for all your edits made so far, but you will have to use the new account name when you log in.
Sorry for the inconvenience.
Yours,
Keegan Peterzell
