Shih Ming-teh (Chinese: 施明德; 15 January 1941 – 15 January 2024) was a Taiwanese statesman.

Shi was imprisoned as a political prisoner three times and sentenced to life imprisonment twice. He served a total of nearly 26 years in prison, so he was known as "Taiwan Mandela."

Shih served as the Chairman of the Democratic Progressive Party from 1993 to 1996.

He was the member of the Legislative Yuan from 1993 to 2002.

Shih died on 15 January 2024 of cancer at Taipei Veterans General Hospital, on his 83rd birthday.[1][2]
