iOS 18 is the latest release of the iOS mobile operating system developed by Apple, which was publicly released on September 16, 2024. It was announced at WWDC 2024 on June 10, 2024.^[1]^[2]

Features

Home Screen and Locking/Hiding App

The Home screen can be customize more. four App Icon Automatic, Light, Dark and Tinted. User able to choose app icon small or large, Apple Allowed users to lock or hide their app with Face ID or Touch ID.^[3]

Control Center

The Control center can be customize more, User able to resize their controls, delete their controls, add new controls and organize their controls. Even works with third-party apps controls and users able to add or delete controls in lock screen and action button only works with iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max, iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max.^[4]

Photos

Photos got biggest redesign and users easy to find and relive special moments, single view displays a familiar grid and new collection that users able to browse by themes without organizing their albums^[5]

Messages

iMessage are new features including text effects and even users able to set time later to send a message, Users who do not use iMessage to Contact Message, iMessage now with RCS for Richer Media and more reliable group message,^[6] Apple now having Messages via satellite for users does not have a WiFi or Cellular Data, Users able to connect nearer satellite to send a message with text, tapbacks and emoji in iMessage.^[7]

Mail

Next year, Users able to manage their inbox with email into Primary, transactions, updates and Promotions.^[8]

Password App

Password App makes users easy to access their password, passkey, Wifi Password and verification codes, Keychain started more than 25 Years ago.^[9]

Apple intelligence

Apple intelligence is AI (Artificial intelligence) that works in only united states, European Union Country and China. And works in iPhone 15 Pro Series, iPhone 16 Series and iPhone 16 Pro Series, Apple Redesigned Siri includes Suggestions, Step by step how to do anything and Richer Language Understanding. Apple intelligence features including asking anything in topics, creating emoji and many others. This will publicly release in late 2024 when iOS 18.1 are Released^[10]

Works Device

iOS 18 works on iPhone XR, iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max and Newer, Special iPhone including iPhone SE 2 and iPhone SE 3 will works iOS 18, Apple Intelligence works only in Apple A17 Pro and Newer.^[11]
