David Emil Reich (born July 14, 1974) is an American geneticist.

Reich is a genome archaeologist. This means he studies the genetics of ancient humans. He looks at patterns of mutations in the genome.

Reich is professor in the Department of Genetics at the Harvard Medical School, and also an associate of the Broad Institute.

Reich was noted in the journal Nature as one of the top 10 people in science in 2015.[1][2]

Reich wrote the book Who We Are and How We Got Here.[3]
