Adobo

From Simple English Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Adobo is a Spanish way of preparing food. It involves soaking meat in a marinade made out of vinegar and spices. The name "adobo" is also used for different ways of preparing food in other countries. In the Caribbean, adobo is a dry seasoning instead of a marinade. In the Philippines, adobo is a stew made out of marinated meat.[1]

Adobo is named after the Spanish word "adobar", which means marinade.[2]
