Abstract Magnetic nanoparticles of CuFe2O4 were applied as catalyst system for one-pot thiophosph... more Abstract Magnetic nanoparticles of CuFe2O4 were applied as catalyst system for one-pot thiophosphate synthesis via the reaction of aryl sulfonyl chlorides with H-phosphonates under conventional heating conditions. This is an extremely efficient and green method for thiophosphate synthesis under base- and solvent-free conditions. Various thiophosphates were obtained in good to excellent yields under the optimized reaction conditions in a short time. The catalyst can be easily recycled from the reaction by an external magnetic field and reused for the next run. In this study, TD-DFT B3LYP/6-31 + G(d) calculations are in good accord with the experimental results. A comparison between experimental and theoretical UV-vis absorption spectra of the thiophosphate 3k has been carried out; and a small hypsochromic shift (only ∼ 2 nm) was displayed at maximum absorption. The aim of this work is to investigate the best method and basis set for thiophosphate compounds; therefore, predictions for these compounds can be performed in theoretical studies. A library of novel dispiro compounds containing oxindole-pyrrolo-carbazole hybrid frame works has... more A library of novel dispiro compounds containing oxindole-pyrrolo-carbazole hybrid frame works has been synthesized in a fully regio- and stereoselective fashion by the three-component 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition of azomethineylides generated in situ from the condensation of isatins and benzylamine with 2-arylidene/heteroarylidene-2,3,4,9-tetrahydro-1H-carbazole-1-one. The structures of the compounds were established by FT-IR, 1H NMR, 13C NMR, X-ray diffraction and elemental analysis. The synthesized dispiro heterocycles have been screened for in vitro cytotoxic activity by MTT assay and displayed enviable growth inhibition on both the cancer cell lines i.e. breast cancer cell line MCF-7 and lung cancer cell line A-549. Morphological changes and apoptosis induction have been studied by inverted light microscopic, fluorescent microscopic techniques and by flow cytometry analyses. Abstract In the present study, metal complexes of 1-amidino-O-alkylureas were designed, synthesiz... more Abstract In the present study, metal complexes of 1-amidino-O-alkylureas were designed, synthesized and characterized by elemental analyses, FT-IR spectra, XRD, Mass analyses and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). All synthesized complexes were screen as α-Glucosidase inhibitors. According to the in vitro results, the Cu (II) complexes showed superior potency compared to other tested metal complexes. Particularly, [Cu(L-Me)2](Cl)2 (1b) showed the strongest inhibition against α-Glucosidase with an IC50 value of 2.75 ± 0.3 µM which was comparable to that of acarbose (IC50 = 750 µM). These findings are supported by the ligands and enzyme interactions through molecular docking.
