Someone threw away this aquarium, which i decided to check out to salvage for the tadpoles I'm fostering...

That is 1" of dirty water in direct sunlight, btw.

Going all-in, gonna to try to clean and salvage this 20 gallon aquarium for our rescue fish & co. so she can live the sweet life. Will need to replace all of the gravel though. It's... a lot.

What I mean by the gravel is a lot (tw animal abuse/neglect):

So, unfortunate news about the aquarium fish mansion salvage:
We spent four days painstakingly scrubbing and scraping off the layers of build-up only to discover upon filling it up that the one singular location in our small abode that we thought could support the weight of a full 20 gallons could not in fact do that.
So our girl will have to remain in the 6ish gallon until we eventually move some place larger ourselves. What a fun thought fish castle was while it lasted though... one day! In the meanwhile, our bodies are so sore from all the manual labor we put into this. 😫😅
We may have found a place for Fish Castle after all! Just needs substrate and a more powerful filter.

May 2nd was my fishaversary! Still out here rescuing fish in Tangerine's name as time and resources allow. There are multiple aquariums now, and a few ponds, but here's an update on Fish Castle.
