Just a little bit of water (less than half an inch here) + glitter (or spices like black pepper - something light that will float but not dissolve in water) + dish soap = 💥

Science behind it: water molecules like to stick together creating surface tension and dish soap is great at breaking that (glitter makes it more visible for us)⚡️

I added some liquid watercolour paint to make it look like the magenta sky we saw last night 💜

We were up late watching the Canada Day fireworks last night and my 5yo was talking about it when he woke up this morning, so I wanted to set up a quick fireworks activity for him 🎆

Inspired by @ohhappyplayday recent 4th of July themed fireworks reel, I thought I could just use water instead of milk Milk Fireworks, Hand Washing Activity, Canada Day Fireworks, Magic Milk, Surface Tension, Liquid Watercolor, Water Molecule, Water Surface, Watercolour Paint

We re-did another favorite experiment, Water and Oil Fireworks. It's our favorite because it's simple, easy and really beautiful to watch. It's also the perfect activity to do with your kids with 4th of July right around the corner. Do you know what the best part is about this experiment? I'm pretty sure you can do it right now...
