Group work rules

Eeeeeeeek!!! I'm just a few days away from my first day so this is going to be a very quick post. I wanted to share a group work rules freebie. I glue them on card stock (the cute striped paper is from Michael's) and set them up on each table during group assignments. It never hurts to have a visual reminder of the rules! A few years ago, I created a set of group work roles posters for my classroom. These were inspired by Ilana Horn's Strength in Numbers.

Teach students to work in groups! Just as we approach everything in our classrooms, teach what is expected for group work - desired behaviors and set expectations. This set of free printable group work expectation posters are a great way to introduce, review and remind students of the privilege that working in groups truly is.

Teamwork is really important in our classrooms. So here´s a poster to remind students about the rules, and 6 Team Cards so you can assign the groups. If laminated, the groups may be vary as many times as needed along the year.
