In 2016, Sardinie provinces wis reformit bi Sardinie regional executive: Cagliari became a Metropolitan Ceety; the provinces Olbia-Tempio, Ogliastra, Medio Campidano an Carbonia-Iglesias wur abolished[3]. In 2017, Regional cooncil o Sardinie appruivit the institution o a new province, Sooth Sardinie. It wis formit bi the municipalities o province o Cagliari that didnae jyne tae Metropolitan Ceety o Cagliari, an thaim that belangt the provinces o Medio Campidano an Carbonia Iglesias[4].
