Bsharri (an aw spelt Becharre, Bcharre, Bsharre; Arabic: بْشَرِّيْ), is a Lebanese toun at aboot 1,450 m o altitude, near the Kadisha Valley. It is locatit at 34°15′4″N 36°0′40″E / 34.25111°N 36.01111°E, in the Bsharri Destrict o the North Govrenorate. Bsharri is the toun o the anerlie remainin (preservit) Oreeginal Cedars o Lebanon, Cedar an is the birthplace o the famous poet, painter an sculptor Khalil Gibran who nou haes a museum in the toun tae honour him.
The name Bsharri (بشرّي) can be foond in the Phoenicie leid (بيث الشري) meanin "The Hoose O Ishtar",[1]
