London design studio Doshi Levien’s work brings technology, hand craft and industrial techniques to the fore across furniture, textiles and product design.

Doshi Levien experimented on a self-imposed grid playing with colorful hand painted samples, scaled down to 7 shades. Interpreting the sequence of notes associated to the classical Indian music system “Raag”, they created a new chromatic language which cc-tapis artisans weave into a flat fabric on which some or all seven notes (colors) are played producing surprising rhythms.
